COCO

Pretty much based on the same notes as the original design. None-standard button nose, inward-swooping green hair, motifs of early budding plants as she's just starting her journey and growth as a person and a witch. I imagine her getting her cutie mark the moment she realizes she can use magic by drawing it. Of course what happened immediately after... her mark fills her with a mixed emotion of joy and dread. Her cutie mark is a positive/negative space Leaf of the same color as her hair, sparkling with either dew or magic. In the middle runs a brush-like mark extending from top to bottom. On the top, a curve is drawn that is decorated in triangle points (pointed hat). On the bottom, is a curve drawn that is decorated with simplified tassels (brimmed hat). In the middle of the brush is what is actually 2 hearts/brush tips mimics an Eye.

QIFREY

A more olive-toned body similar to Celestia. His lashes are grey and blue instead of black (based on anime model sheet). His tail and main are meant to resemble a swan shape. Under the hat is a spot of periwinkle hair. This is a stand-in for other spoiler details. His cutie mark is unknown (there's no way I can make one that's actually appropriate for him without just going full spoiler territory, yknow? besides he's in horse pants no one shall see.)

AGOTT

Most pony Agott's I've seen have been fully purple and while I get that I thought she had more of a... dark academia/old money vibe to her. So I went with dark gray as a way to make her purple eyes pop more! Her hair under the hat comes together as 2 cowlicks forming a half-light/half-dark heart. Her cutie mark is a scroll held by a wilted rose acting as a wax seal. She has the more masculine horse feathers (fluff by the hooves) as a nod to her more androgynous style and her front hooves are scratched and stained with ink from over-intense practice. These are covered sufficiently by the uniform.

TETIA

Tetia was one of the easiest to design despite how many pinks she has! I took her hair and I split it between her Mane and Tail. Gave her a bow on the tail to mimic her imagine 2-pointed cap. Her cutie mark is a sunflower (gratitude) with the Light Sigil in the center. Around the flower are 2 clouds, one brown and one white, meant to symbolize her cloud cushion spell.

RICHEH

Girl your hair... Definitely the hardest to get to a spot that I liked. Decided to go with a more Twilight Sparkle route with her style as a nod to how she was hesitant to change in season 1. She still looks very winter-y in her colors, but I wanted to go more for a sunny winter sky look rather than ice. Her cutie mark is a sapphire/crystal with a swirling ribbon around it to symbolize her being constricted but also her crystal ribbon spell!

OLRUGGIO

His fur is the color of the Shadow in his character reference, to provide more contrast for the blues and avoid just making him into a (ambiguously white?) man but horse-shaped with the flesh tone. His hair is simplified to resemble both a heart and folded bird wings. The wings are meant to speak to his job as a watchful eye/protector. His cutie mark is the fire symbol shining against a heart-shaped pair of blue bird wings.

EYEBALL MASK BRIMMED HAT (IGUIN)

One of the easiest to translate. Replace mane/tail with the beaded ribbon, give him bat-pony features, and reduce the costume details. The cloak has become bat-pony wings and the horn is made of gold--but these are implied to actually be a part of him instead of the contraptions like the pointed cap witches... hmm....

SPECULATIVE BRIMMED HAT COCO

Goodness Gracious this was wild. Decided to take a 'corrupted peacock' kinda approach with this one--making her dress a part of her. Her wings are jeweled and her horn resembles both her hat and a silver-tree branch. Same as normal Coco but different!

Those Sweet Satyrs has become a better, grander story than it was originally intended to be, and so it's taken a lot more love and care to put together. The script for the first part was written just over 4 years ago and I'm still getting pages drawn for only up to chapter 3! But that's more of a personal discipline thing. Now, moving on to details.

The comic will be in various places, and will launch with a promotional trailer featuring animation made entirely by me and voice acting work by myself, and a very talented friend (who I have paid for his contributions to the project). It will also announce the sites that the comic will be available to read on.

Releases will not begin until all sites/builds are finished, and chapters 1 - 3 are complete. Drawing chapter 4 thumbnails will be begin with comic launch. Example of sketch to final page from ch 2,

Chapter 1 will release in its entirety shorter after the trailer drops (release date TBD as of this post).

Chapter 2 - onward will have pages released every weekend. Currently still determining if the release schedule will be 1 page or 2 pages per week.

The comic will be structured in 3-4 Acts, with Act 1 comprising of 24 chapters (fully written, art is WIP). The intention is to have a year's worth of buffer pages finished should anything come up that keeps me from working on the comic as much as I would like to. (I've already had 3 health scares in the last 4 years and try to work freelance while also continuing to job hunt for an opportunity in my industry.) I also have a much better grasp on how I work, and so am doing a large amount of front-heavy work in order to have things covered and ready to go when progress falters.
