hi peach how did Pokemon presents go
there was no missing link
trick or treat!
Young Genesis and Angeal!!! (I was experimenting with lighting here)
I encourage you to go insane max
Oh you're in for it now :)
So many of the characters across KH build up their strength and magic over time, starting from small bits and working their way up to better spells, more precise hits, and better 'damage' with some focusing more on one over the others for what works for them! Some like Mickey and Donald and even Goofy we dont really see start small and work up and are more so already near their best but no doubt they've been through the same thing, and we've seen personally that Sora has too.
But Sora is different in that he has also repeatedly lost it all, several times in fact. After KH1 he relearns all his magic and strength through the cards in COM/RE:COM, then he loses that and has to relearn it all again but KH1 style in KH2, then he has to learn some slightly new stuff for DDD and then LOSES IT ALL AGAIN AND HAS TO RELEARN AGAIN FOR KH3! Which is fucking baffling and I know it's outside reason is "we need to put the player at square one so they can grow and learn especially if it's their first time" but the fucking in world implications is crazy.
Because when you process that you realize that Sora has been able to relearn old and completely new things almost faster than most, if not all, of the current wielders we know of. Kairi and Axel/Lea got special training in the warped time area of course and they picked up things fast but we've also seen they're still learning, and Kairi always seems like a bit more of a magic girl to me who uses physical attacks on the side. Sora is shown to be someone who's balanced in his skills, using magic, strength, and movement in equal turn instead of necessarily majorily favouring one in canon. And it's fucking crazy how sometimes it seems like Yen Sid and some of the villains look down upon him to some degree for losing his powers! Yes it sucks he did, but in many cases he was in deeply traumatic situations, sometimes literally dying or having his energy sapped so it makes sense he was weakened, and no one brings up his ability to regain it all so fast and even better than before though!
Which leads to my next point, the attractions and how to me they prove that Sora is one of the strongest fucking characters in this god damn franchise, at least magic wise (probably next to Donald). No doubt they're meant to be silly promotions and connections to rides across the world at various Disney parks, but good god thinking about it in universe is insane. We know that keyblades can do form changes, and we know to some degree I think that magic and keyblades can be used to summon things to help their wielder, and it seems like keyblades or staffs are often used as a funnel in these ways. Where they hone the users magic into a specific spot or funnel for them to summon what they wish, whether it be a fire ball or fuxking tea cups.
With the attractions you can see Sora use his keyblade for their summoning, but then afterwards the keyblade either vanishes as he puts it away or he just holds it and doesn't use it on the attractions, which means he's able to control these attractions after initial summons without the keyblades help???? And that's fucking baffling to me cause I can't help but think about how much magic and energy it all must take.
It's not like the regular KH summons where you bring a friend to help and they do their own thing with your input help, these are completely new thing that Sora is able to create out of pretty much thin air, with no outside help, and he can control them with such ease he literally laughs and has fun with them! And they don't use any MP which I always thought of it being then it uses some sort of internal magic energy that isn't connected to MP, either way, it's crazy! Sora can summon these gigantic objects out of nowhere back to back with no hint of exhaustion, tiredness, or any semblance of pain, they seem to place no strain on him whatsoever and in universe that's actually fucking amazing.
All magic seems to exhaust the user to some extent after excessive use, so either the attractions don't, which they're magic so hard to imagine, or Sora just somehow has such a high internal magic well that he just isn't bothered by it. HE LITERALLY AUMMONS AND CONTROLS A TRAIN AGAINST THE ROCK TITAN! And it's never brought up in canon and that's such a missed thing to me.
Because people tend to look down on him for his "lower level" at times compared to others who are Masters, and he may not have passed the MOM exam (thanks for that xehanort and also Yen Sid despite the fact he totally should have been given another chance) but he is in many ways on par with some of the Masters we know if not stronger! The MOM exam literally seems to be anything the teacher wants as a basis, and while I do think Sora needs to have help with his mental health first, his powers are qualifiers enough in regards to the general exam idea.
Basically Sora in universe is one of the strongest characters all cause of a silly inclusion of the attractions and the series attempts at helping players grow and start anew each game. And it hurts me that it's never acknowledged, I just want someone to see him doing his tricks, he's ability to weird all elemental manner of spells, his ability to summon these completely new objects for him and his friends to use in fights, and to realize "oh, holy shit, he is so much stronger than we, and even he, thinks".
Also I think there's something to be said about how the big magic attractions all are really fun things, tea cup rides, carousels, roller coasters, pirate ship swing. They're all things that he finds fun and enjoys doing and I can't help but feel that maybe it's just how his higher magic manifests, like for more experienced older wielders it would be in crazier summons like big weapons or meteors, but Soras a teenager, he's still a kid in some ways, and without that outside training from any previous Master he's just making things that he likes and finds easy to do.
WAIT A MO YOU CHANGED IT! Vo1D ^_^
hehe yeah gotta keep people on their toes >:3
