"There's no way this is right."
At first, the servant saw no reason to reveal herself. Though she'd sensed the presence of some phantasmal beasts here, this lone warrior was more than capable of handling a single chimera. His bladework is immaculate, made at an almost blinding speed for any human.
So precise, in fact, that she could not recognize it as anything but her own.
"Okita Souji...so this is the me from this world..." she mutters to herself more to him as she steps out from around the corner, into the lantern light.
In truth, this isn't that unusual for servants - they would often find different versions of themselves, should they happen to be in the right time period. Finding out this one is male is no shock, nor is any difference in their appearance. That's not what bothers her.
She unsheathes her own blade. It's not a threat - but the closest thing she can offer to an explanation for her own confusion. If this truly is an alternative form of her from this world - he'd be a fool not to recognize his own blade.
"This shouldn't be possible. We're - no - I'm supposed to be dead by now"
