Chindits of No 3 column are given orders by Major Calvert amid the rubble of the Burmese town of Moguang -June 1944
Southern Asia 75 years ago today: Arakan, Chindits, and Bengal Famine (25 Mar 1943) http://omniatlas.com/maps/southasia/19430325/ In late 1942 the British attempted to reconquer the Arakan region of Burma, but they made little headway before being pushed back by the Japanese. They did better further north, where the irregular British 'Chindits' made successful raids through the jungle behind Japanese lines. However, just as these expeditions were coming to a close, famine - induced by the pressures of war and British mismanagement - erupted in nearby Bengal, leading to millions of Indian deaths. #southasia #history #welovemaps #1940s #1943 #bangladesh #bengal #burma #britain #india #japan #maps #march #march25 #worldwarii #worldwar2 #ww2 #war #bengalfamine #arakan #chindit #chindits #map #geography #britishempire #britishraj (at Akyab, Rakhine State, Burma)

Bolt Action Compendium Review

We assumed the books on the Roadmap would be the only Bolt Action content published during the first year. I am happy to admit this assumption was wrong. A surprise release from Warlord Games – the Bolt Action Compendium collects articles, scenarios, force orgs, and units from the Warlord…
GRG Bolt Action May Organized Play Recap
The second Bolt Action Organized Play even at GRG!
I headed back to the lovely Golden Rhino Games in Ypsilanti, MI for the second monthly Bolt Action Organized Play Event. The community continues to grow in the greater Detroit area and I was excited to meet new folks and reconnect with players I met last month at the April event. Three games, 1,000pts, single Generic Platoon, Campaign book units allowed (if the GRP allows the unit). We also used…
