"What's in that bag and why are you hiding it here?"

It was a nice day in London, as far as London days go, and for once River was actually enjoying being home. (Well - sort of home. Close enough. Everything's close in England, once you compare it to the whole great galaxy. It was all a matter of perspective, River thought.) Of all the places she could go in a city as bustling as this one, it was a park she ended up in, a tea in one hand and a book in the other. There was nothing wrong with unwinding a little, not on a day as lovely as this.

But no matter how hard she tried, she found herself spending less time reading and more time observing the playground nearby, where a dozen or so children of varying ages were playing and screeching without a care in the world. She smiled, softly, and there it was - that familiar pang of longing, right between her hearts, as usual. 

Her gaze shifted to a girl on a nearby bench, older than most of the others, and the pang evaporated in an instant, a kind of dread replacing it. Those curls - those were too familiar, the kind of curls you only saw once in a million years, the kind of curls a girl had to get from their father - or their mother.

Sarah Jane was in the attic, and upon hearing the question she walked outside. “No, I don’t believe I did,” She said, her eyebrow raised. “Mr. Smith, did you do that?”

"No, Sarah Jane, I believe it was K-9."

Sarah sighed. “Here, I’ll help you in a moment.”

Sarah Jane said her goodbyes to the Doctor and immediately began to try to help Kallie as best she could, placing band-aids and bandages anywhere she needed them. It had only been a week for Sarah Jane since she had seen Kallie, but that was Time Travel. She knew something like this would happen, which was why she was so hesitant at the beginning for Kallie going with the Doctor. But she knew she couldn’t stop her, and she wanted her to see all the things Sarah Jane saw out there in space. She was glad to see Kallie again, but coming back with all these wounds made her extremely mad at the Doctor. She wanted to make sure Kallie was fully healed again before travelling with him at all. It wasn’t right to put her through that much danger. She was the Doctor’s Daughter, after all. He should have been more careful.
