The other boy’s name was Tan, and it was probably the biggest bit of irony Kamina had ever faced in his life because he’d never seen a paler face.
He looked up at his dad with a sour expression on his face, wondering why this had been so important, and the man ruffled his hair reassuringly.
“Tan and his mother are traders from Bachika. You two should be friends,” the man explained.
Kamina nodded, turning back to the other boy with a fierce look of determination on his face. He took a deep breath and charged, mouth hanging open to bear his teeth menacingly. Like a friend would do.
