Chiala is chipper and enthusiastic, although her upbeat attitude does waver when she's terrified--which is more and more often, since she became involved with the  mercenaries of Badass inc.  However, her sense of responsibility is usually strong enough to get her through her fear.  Chiala takes matters of duty and faith very seriously, and is very concerned about the reputation and honor of her family.  She tends to lose her temper if she feels her family or beliefs are being insulted, and may punch the offending party.  She will typically calm down immediately after, but never apologizes for such an outburst.  Chiala is also quick to defend the faith or religion of others, even if she does not share their beliefs.
She can be somewhat overbearing and may get involved where she's not welcome, but if someone tells her clearly to leave them alone or stay out of their business she'll respect their decision. Â (She will usually ignore such a request from a third party.) Â Chiala has an infectious laugh, and often laughs at her own jokes until others get swept up in it. Â She adores puns, and is incredibly proud to make or understand even the lamest bit of wordplay in Lucenian.
Chiala uses magic stemming from her religious observances; maintaining a sacred pyre has given her superior control of the shape, color, and temperature of flames. Â She also knows a rare form of magic to commune with and calm fire elementals such as dragons. Â She also has a number of day-to-day skills that she considers utterly mundane and unremarkable, such as weatherproofing a house or preserving food. Â She is frequently distressed to find out how few of the mercenaries know any of these things.
