Combining Greek mythology with physics experiments… seems quite fitting, doesn't it? I mean, what if the boulder Sisyphus was pushing was tied to a rope, suspended by a pulley system, with the sword of Damocles hanging from the other end? With this idea in mind, I drew this set of diagrams. (This is my understanding of the imagery representing the relationship between Thomas and Henry. In my view, Thomas's admiration for Henry is like Sisyphus pushing a boulder uphill; he can never reach the top, and he can never truly express his feelings. Dave's fear of his future is like that of a prisoner watching the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head, not knowing when it will fall, and similarly not knowing what his future will hold. Henry is the pulley that connects them.)
