A few years ago one of my friends managed to get in contact with the writers of the ITV TV Show Whitechapel. We were able to ask them how the show was originally supposed to end and we got our answer.

I held onto the email for two years as I wanted to make sure that there truly wasn’t any chance of the show returned. But now, with almost 9 years having passed since the finale of Series 4 I think it might be safe to do so.

Warning ahead that there are spoilers for the planned ending of the show. I cannot say if this is the ending we ultimately would have gotten, but it was the one the writers had in mind. I have obviously redacted any personal information.
