Helloo, I was wondering. How exactly does Patreon work? Like, do you have to pay to sign up? Or like is a certain part of your donations taken by the owners of the site as payment? Or is it completely free?
Patreon does have a help center that could probably explain what the site does and how. ie: What is Patreon?
I’ll try to answer to the best of my abilities.
Patreon is a site where artists get crowd funded to create whatever it is they’re creating ( kind of like Kickstarter, but it goes on forever). Patreon is free to sign up, for both artists and people pledging. An artist sets up a page, ( ie: my patreon ) and people pledge moneys to help support said artist in their endeavors. The Artists set up tiers for pledges( ie: pledge $2, pledge $10) that offer different rewards for the people pledging different amounts. Patrons aka people pledging are charged at the first of the month or whenever someone posts whatever they’re creating, whichever the artist has set up on their patreon.The owners of patreon do charge a small fee from the artist’s pledges for services.
