A little late to the bandwagon, but I really wanted to jump on it while it was still rolling!
Just wow. When you spend your lifetime as an artist you grapple with a love-hate relationship towards what you create, and more often than not there’s this relentless, festering feeling that you’re not improving. Even more so, that you never will.
Sometimes it literally takes putting old art beside something new that you’ve made to finally see it, and most importantly, to accept it. It’s been a long road, but I’m glad that I can finally say that I’m proud of how far I’ve come - younger me would be so surprised!
Anyway, the pieces! The first one was a get-well gift for my girlfriend (who at the time I had only newly befriended <3) from an old story of hers while the second is a character from one of our collaborated stories that I drew back in November! 2009 was obviously Baby’s-First-Anime days, and I heavily relied on traditional artwork as I had no other medium, while in 2019 I’ve been able to continue molding more of my own style through digital work with my tablet!
I’ll probably go further into it when I possibly do a line-up of pieces from each year between 2009 and 2019 when I have the time, but I feel that my proudest accomplishment throughout the years is diversifying my content and gradually finding self-acceptance through it as well! I’m looking forward to what 2020 brings!
Don’t give up, just keep going! <3
