The two giants who said yes.
Two people wrote the forewords for my book.
Both of them mentored me at different points in my career. Both of them said yes when I asked, which is something I am still slightly trying to believe is real.
The first is Paul Pairet. Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Multi-Michelin-starred chef. The man who invented the world's first multi-sensory immersive dining concept — Ultraviolet, in Shanghai. There is no chef of his generation who is doing what he is doing.
The second is Cetin Sekercioglu. CEO of Upgrading.CC. Mathematics champion. Former president of ultra-luxury hotel networks. One of the most respected leadership voices in global hospitality today.
When two people of that level put their names on a project, it changes the project. Not because it adds prestige, although it does. But because it adds responsibility. The work has to be worthy of the trust they extended. There is no way to coast with names like that on the cover.
The book is Rich Chef Poor Chef. Published in January this year. Now an international bestseller.
I am grateful. I will not pretend otherwise.
