Hello~ I recently got PaintTool SAI and I've been trying to figure out how to draw lines like the one in your first image in /post/73861239555/here-are-my-brush-settings-and-i-even-included-the - I mimicked every single thing you've shown in the toolbar, down to the digit, but my squiggles and lines don't thicken in the middle and thin at the end and I was wondering if you could help me. (I guess I should mention I'm on a Mac) If you could help me out, thank you so much. <3
Ah yes of course. Paint Tool SAI is a PC program and shouldn't even be able to run on a Mac. I'm guessing you have it so that it can run PC programs, but this could be the problem to start with.
Also, tablets need certain drivers to be downloaded so they can interpret pen pressure correctly. These programs should run on both Mac and PC (pretty sure!), but if they were downloaded incorrectly, then it can cause them to stop working. These drivers will also (very rarely) just not boot up when you start your computer. Restarting your computer or even the drawing program will fix the problem if that is the issue.
Another problem with the drivers is that they won't run if another tablet driver is downloaded. For instance, I once had a Wacom Bamboo tablet with the driver for it on my computer. When I changed to a Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet, the driver wasn't the same, but it would install and work until I shut down the computer. When it would start back up, the driver for my tablet would get rerouted to the previous driver. Completely deleting the drivers and reinstalling the proper one fixed the pen pressure issue.
If you continue to have problems with pen pressure, it could just be the program. I recommend using a more Mac compatible program instead if this is the case.
