Authors, remember that your artist needs to submit a rough draft at the same time you do, so it’s important to let them see as much of your work-in-progress as you can. Even if it’s still in pieces, you can discuss your plot and characters with them so they have something to work with.
Artists, it’s a good idea to talk with your author about what you have in mind before the checkpoint, and if possible, let them see a work in progress, even if it’s just a vague sketch.
One more note for everyone: We know nobody wants to think about dropping, and we hope everyone who’s still in will make it to the finish line! But we also understand that things do happen, and if you realize you need to drop, please let us and your collaborator know so we can find them a pinch hitter in time.
