Sorry, I just get tired of this 'oh Harry's family were so much wealthier than Louis' stereotype and never see it challenged.

Louis' family were not living pay cheque to pay cheque because Louis had his own car aged 18, spent every summer on a family holiday in France, and knew how to ski. Anne was a pub landlady, that's a more working class job than an NHS midwife. Harry had never ski-ed and had to be taught by Louis on their first ski trip.

They both went to secondary schools with an identical Ofsted profile with a similar amount of students getting fives Cs at GCSE (this is how schools are rated in the UK). If Harry's family had been 'very comfortably off' he'd have been at a private school not a state one.

I am actually living in the UK (note my spelling of cheque as opposed to anons).

Hi nonnie, unfortunately I don’t know what initially provoked the “chavy” conversation, but I absolutely appreciated the anon’s comment around it, especially since I don’t live in the UK and would need other people’s input.

So I’m appreciative of your opinion as well and your perception of Louis’ and Harry’s different or as you say, similar upbringing.

I think what I remember missing from the conversation as well is that Anne & Jay became best friends, too. It can be an indication for many things, like that a) they got to know each other over Louis’ and Harry’s immediate infatuation with each other, that they b) were both separated from the father of their son, that they c) shared the experience of having a son with a dream at TXF.
