Gray had only texted Gabe a few times over the upcoming weekend but after he ditched her Friday afternoon she was beyond frustrated and annoyed with him. He was obviously with his friends all day long and majority of the time during school so having him to herself was slim to none. She shouldn't have just assume he would change or actually want to hang out with her, she was always second and she had to accept that when it came to Gabe. But she shouldn't have to accept being put on the back burner and only be flexible when Gabe was free to spend some time with her.
Monday morning she was dreading seeing him because she was too afraid of being hurt again over something stupid. She was gathering her things in the hallway when she heard footsteps walking up behind her and next to her and she looked up, half expecting it to be Gabe. But again it wasn't, she was a bit more surprised to see William. He was one of her mutual friends through her group of friends and she had hung out with him at a birthday party before, but nothing too much. They started small talking on the way to her classroom, before she spotted Gabe's group of friends walking down the hallway like they owned the damn place. "I actually have to go, I'll see you around okay?" She smiled up sweetly to William before she turned around and felt a gentle grab on her arm. William stopped her before asking something she never imagined anyone ever saying to her, "I really wanted to ask you to prom... Andrea told me you didn't have a date to go with and I figured you would be sort of fun to go with. I understand, if you don't want to but." He smiled stroking the palm of her hand on the side of the hallway as everyone around them rushed to their classes. Her heart dropped, she was actually not wanting to go but William was sweet, not her type but, she would enjoy herself with him. "Um... Okay, sure. I would like that. Thank you for asking." She smiled sweetly with a nod before they said their goodbyes and she walked to her next class. Soon it was the end of the day and she had one more period to go, she had a fairly decent test in the next class so she decided to be productive and actually study during study hall instead of reading a book like normally or doing her friend's math homework.
