ok but. one of the most overlooked pieces of evidence for the charrator theory is that chara would presumably be a ghost, and napstablook, a ghost monster, reacts to their narration — during the napstablook fight, checking them gets the line “this monster doesn’t seem to have a sense of humor” (chara’s kind of an asshole tbh), and in the next turn, they say, “oh, i’m REAL funny”. like. why would toby specifically have only the ghost monster react to the narrator if he wasn’t implying that the narrator is a ghost
