ā« for Chad!
we know the way - moana soundtrack
The game was on the line, and Ben knew it. He wasnāt even the captain; heād given up that honor after high school, when heād been coronated and started having far too much on his plate, yet he still took responsibility for the tourney team failing, here on their home field, a goal down to Sherwood Forest with just eleven seconds left on the clock.
He looked around the circle at all his fired up teammates, and Ben knew that they wantedĀ this win ā maybe some of them even neededĀ it. He caught Chadās eye, and noticed that he was distracted, glancing sideways towards the cheerleaders⦠towards Audrey. Ben knew how badly his sometimes-friend wanted to impress his ex-girlfriend, and he had a feeling that he wanted the glory of the win as a chance to get the girl⦠or maybe just to remind people to take Chad Charming seriously.
They may have had their differences, but when theyād been kids, there hadnāt been any of the jealousy, or the resentment or the conflict that sometimes arose. There had just been two boys, two princes even, and theyād been the best of friends. And today, they were two teammates who still knew each other better than almost anyone ā and suddenly, Ben broke the silence in the huddle, saying,Ā āWe know what to do. Leave this one to me and Chad.ā
He winked at his old friend, remembering all the trick plays theyād been practicing together since little league tourney back in elementary school. Theyād always been two of the best ā maybe that had even been when the rivalry had started, when theyād been nearly equal in talent but Ben had been the one to be lauded, to get the captaincy. Could he even really blame Chad for thinking he was getting special privileges? Ben didnāt think so, but he hoped that right now they could forget all of that and just play like those same two boys who could practically read each otherās minds.
Chad winked back ā he must have seen it too, the weaknesses in Sherwood Forestās defense, the way that their favorite old play could work against this kind of coverage. Grinning, the team split off from the sidelines, the plan to get the ball to Ben, who would get it to Chad⦠who would send them into overtime, if all went according to plan.Ā
