I’m absolutely obsessed w Franco Barbi BUT haven’t considered the relationship/dynamic he’d have with my sona much and would like to build on it more since he as a pretty set dynamic/relationship with Coyle and Gooseberry— PLUS…..I can’t tell if I have a crush on him or not and am kinda hoping this would help…

I have no real plot in mind, I just hope inspiration will hit😭

I sorta have a starter idea…? Up to if the person responding vibes with it!

So it’s kinda hard to explain how I pick out animals for my aus but I typically try to push aside personality and looks (or at least put them as least important). Instead, I pay attention to small behaviors and habits—more subconscious stuff (ex; if they’re competitive, their temperament, the kind of weather they like/where they live, sleep habits, food they like, etc.). I also avoid results of trauma behavior for these things (yes that is hard for trials lol).

Many jump to the conclusion; dog. Specifically a dog that is known to work in police. Originally, I had the same idea— at least I figured he’d be a canine. This is because in my furry world building, it’s common for canines to work in law enforcement (or in the government) for their natural obedience and loyalty. Canines are naturally (were made to be) people pleasers who take the law very seriously and are typically agreeable. They take orders without question, naturally responsible and having faith that the one giving it to them is just.

At first glance this seems perfect. Coyle raves and rants about the law and what society deems as “right” constantly! He was a good soldier and cop! He lives his life with the law and society’s expectations as gospel like any canine would….right? Not exactly….I don’t believe any of this is actually true about Coyle, it’s just a half-assed justification for his actions. Half of the shit Coyle talks about he doesn’t appear to believe in at all actually, just that it’s a selling point that works for him.

“Of course you want an easy answer. Jews or the colords or the commies, and I'm happy to sell you whatever it is you want to buy. Law is... a sort of miracle. It's like buying life insurance for something that already happened and you can't do nothing about.”

It’s an excuse and his position as an officer (or soldier) has nothing to do with believing in what’s right or your government— he’s aware it’s corrupt (as seen above), it’s more about getting away with the brutality he wants to act out. Really, it’s implied he doesn’t even take orders well— he’s reckless and impulsive—he’s even killed teammates on duty multiple times.

I don’t think this fits the canine role well. I can’t even tell if he’s actually racist or if he just spits that shit because it goes with the typical American climate at the time that he uses to his advantage in some way— where does this leave me?? Is he even actually patriotic?

(Kind of a self insert thing?? He’s canonically named his toys these?)
