On June 9, 1822, New York inventor Charles Graham obtained a patent for false teeth. While false teeth had already existed for centuries, often fashioned out of animal bone or ivory, Graham's creation was made out of a far more durable material, porcelain, allowing him to take a bite out of a very meaty market.
