WHITE LIES GOT THEIR COMICS BOOKS!!

I was one of the lucky people to win a chance to buy a ticket to White Lies' special show at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen. I went there on 23rd for the show & 25th for the merch! Here's the story:

Me and my friend, basically me, thought that there would be a massive queue - as we're very used to the queue at Muse's concerts - so we went there at 3/4pm - NOBODY WAS THERE! "Holy shit, is this the right place??", but when Mr McVeigh appeared we knew it was the right bar (yay!). Now, I promise not to fangirl - fangirl stuff I shall better leave to my friends and myself :).

Long story short (the long one is super exciting but you'd need to see my face to understand that): We met the guys after the interview they were giving in the nearby park (Charles left in the middle of Jack and Harry's interview to have another interview inside the bar). Stopping them in the middle of the street (due to my friend stopping me "Nooo, you cannot approach them NOW...oh, they're leaving - GO NOW?!"), talking to them was quite funny. They really had a great laugh - apparently we're "the only fans to EVER queue to their gig", according to Jack. He was quite proud of that too. Jack really loved the moth in molasses I’ve put on the back cover of the book – “so this is your publishing label, eh?”; I have no idea which comics made Jack laugh out so fucking loud we could hear him from outside the bar so if you’re reading this – DO TELL!

Oh, did I mention that Harry took a bug out of my hair so I could look decent on the photo with him? Bless him - and thank you, Harry, thanks to you I'm having an adorable photo!

We've met Charles, Tommy and Rob as well. Charles is the chattiest beast on this planet. Told us the story behind “Unfinished Business as a riot starter song in China”, he even asked me about my band - he's so getting a demo tape in November! I have asked him to draw something funny in our copy of the comics book. Charles decided to draw amazing White Lies! You can see his impressive drawing skills and the shoot from “making of” in this post as well. We've had a chance to talk to Harry and Charles after the show too - I was madly checking out their pedal boards after the show - had to tell them what "epic, cool shit" they're having! It’s amazing when someone who makes the music that kind of saved you stops you on the street with a warm “Oh, hello there!” and stops for a chat with you. Unbelievable and so good!

Asking Harry & Charles about the Comics Book was the thing that made our day - "Do you like the Comics Book?"

H: "Oh, I actually LOVE THAT! It’s really great"

My heart melted. Charles' reaction was pretty emotional - followed with "OH!"s and "AH!"s. He said he's going to "somehow" frame a picture I drew of him as Francis of "The Darjeeling Limited" (posting it so you know what I'm talking about!).  During the show, I've had a lot of laughs shouting random Fear of Flying songs, which kind of made Charles laugh who'd always turn to Jack and tell him "She wants Routemaster!" "She knows Three's a Crowd!" "God, now it's Forget Me Nots!" - singing most of the new material was shocking and entertaining to him too, I hope!

On 25th I've just got my BIG TV t-shirt and a Fiction Records bag...and 4th picture with Harry (Why 4? Ask my friend! I can't really explain that in any rational way). Thankfully, Harry's very nice and he knows that "I love taking pictures with him" (literally said it to him and heard a proud "hyhy" as a response).

Sincere apology for not posting all of the photos with the boys, but I don't want my photos to run all around the Internet, so I'm giving one, where you can see Harry actually holding the book, as this is what it’s all about :).

Thanks to everyone for their support! It means a lot and I wouldn't be able to draw all of this if it wasn't those CETAIN PEOPLE who helped me focus on it. THANK YOU SO MUCH, LOVE YOU LOTS!

Also, thanks to White Lies for making this day so special - new album is sounding great! Seems like I forgot to tell them that after the show (oops!). But hey, “I LIKE YOUR GEAR, HARRY” H: “OH??” “The guitar gear! I’ve spent like 10 minutes checking it out!” H: “Oh, my guitar gear, hyhy, THANKS!”

I complimented their gear. There’s no better compliment to a guitarist, right?
