Although if you look into their eyes they’re terrifying, Mew Gulls remain one of my favourite Gulls. They breed high up north and in subalpine areas in the western North American mountains, but spend their winters on the beaches of the northeast pacific coast. They appear so delicate in flight and amongst the large gulls they share the coast with. Yet, are incredibly hardy and can endure the worst storms even in areas north to Alaska. Overall, they’re a pretty impressive little bird
