(Asking both Lunetta and Ali) So what would you do if someone had a way of gaining a weapon that could kill anything, yet possibly corrupt them? Would it be worth the risk? All for Freedom obviously...
Lunetta:Ā āWellā¦I wouldnāt really be invokingĀ āFreedomā here, given itās a false virtueā¦but ignoring thatā¦
If someone had a way to gain a weapon that could kill anything yet possibly corrupt themā¦no. No it wouldnāt be worth the risk. Thereās nothing that canāt be slain if Wisdom and Courage are drawn upon, and we have achieved so much as an Empire by working together and doing just that. Iā¦I wouldnāt like to think someone could lose themselves, or be drawn to heresy by an action that is unnecessary. The lives of our warriors are worth more than that.ā
Ali:Ā āIt would depend. Would this corruption turn them against their allies in the end? If soā¦then that weapon becomes dangerous to all, not just their enemies. Do the enemy have a means to get hold of that weapon? If so, then it needs to be taken to safety, but perhaps not used. Does the corruption have the potential to take hold immediately or does it grow over time? If it grows, why not have several people take turns to wield it, so the corruption doesnāt take hold of one person quickly, but several over much time - the others can keep a close eye on the wielder, and there would need to be safeguards in placeā¦
I guess what Iām trying to say is, itās complicated.ā
