Even though Jason's been avoiding all of the Bats' attempts to get him to rejoin the family, once he discovers a dark secret, he can't let things lie.

The imposter doesn’t ask Leo to sleep with it in Donnie’s room that night, which Leo is grateful for. It makes it so much easier to sneak out.

It still curls up with its head in Leo’s lap as they watch Bluey on the projector, a kind of irony that is not lost on Leo. At some point, Leo finds himself staring not at the cartoon but at the wall behind it, eyes glazed over and mind a million miles away. He recognises the feeling of scales under his fingers, and looks down to see he’s started using his twin’s hand as a stim toy. It’s still awake, eyes reflecting the cheerful colours of the cartoon, though Mikey’s gone to his own room and Raph’s long since passed out on the floor. His twin blinks, and glances up at him.

“What?” it asks, smiling.

“I miss you.”

“I’m right here,” the imposter laughs.
