since chapter one is gonna be posted TOMORROW heres all the refs and such!
In the unlikely chance you arent familiar with me and have an interest in this universe, id recommend you browse my "art" tag, or at least "towgiap" tag, as that may explain a lot. may lead to spoilers, even refs! i only really tag things further than ch5 as "late game spoilers"
in my last big fic, i had the refs just in the actual work, but since there are so many characters and changes in universe or between chapters/installments, i thought it'd be best to put it in it's own post! also i really really really like talking about this universe. clicking on the links may lead to vague spoilers/future outfits! there are also a ton of named bg characters for this fic, so unless i say theyre important/they have a proper ref like these, you probably dont need to remember them
First, some notable changes. HL2ep2 still happens, eli does NOT die nor does judith run off. there was still a (relatively) minor fight in the hangar i guess.
Second, (spoilers for the first five chapters!) the timeline! not super detailed and the timing may be awkward
Third, the general gist of how the universe works! also spoilers lol! copied:
vague ages that may be off by a year or two: Gordon (adult, 15. pup, "about weaning age"), Barney (32), Alyx (14/15), Eli and kleiner like... 50's..?
Also! I made some species! new headcrabs (no art yet) and vortihounds!
Gordon, pre-puppy'd and as a puppy... as an adult, assume he wears plain civvies/simple clothing, and the HEV suit!
Alyx in HL2. She would have a few more accessories at this point, ideally
Barney in HL2. he doesnt get a new fit (yet) because he's too busy wearing that damn vest
Eli in HL2, then towards the end of ch1
Kleiner in HL2, then towards the end of ch1

Dr Julie. we'll be seeing her a lot!

Judith (and other old refs) and Uriah and Magnusson get the slightest time "on screen" so have their old refs!

personal quarters that Barney and Gordon stay in each (left) and more common quarters (right), at least in the second level's living area. link has elaboration on both. colors may be different idk
and the bunker! click on the link to its post, it has more images and more yapping. this is still technically a work in progress, i havent added all the rooms i want, at the very least, but i made slight changes in the layout that, if someone really remembered how the bunker looks, they may get too confused...... you probably wouldnt care as much as i do though :3
