I don't need to repeat myself from the last few chapters. God Valley is really cool across the board. But seriously...do y'all understand how much I love this little moment? The whole-ass cooking pot kills me. There's a comically large screw in there. He gets sniped by Mr. 5's old fruit...woulda been a lot cooler if that was our first 3-peat Donquixote Family. Mr.5 was solid, I fw Lenny Kravitz unless he did some heinous shit recently. Minor old gripe but seriously...would "We killed Miss Valentine and Mr. 5 over the time skip" have been too much? It's even worse when it's Dressrosa and right next to Ace's fruit being a core plot point. Oh, and my point what happens here doesn't matter. This shows, not tells you why his treasure matters now by just doing what God Valley does. You know Kid's fruit well enough to know how much someone else could do with it for this purpose.

Still, wasn't joking about Captain John's Treasure. Do you remember this island? It's from the early vignette Buggy and Co. first mention it, the miners' tunnel. This has been a longstanding background plot point. But what stands out about this island now? Think someone who was sailing the Grand Line as a kid might mistake it for Hachinosu? And hey, I have a fair point Izo's introduced in an arc heavily featuring Buggy while Kin/Momo have an obvious parallel in Caesar Clown. Cross Guild in turn is announced at the end of Wano.

Buggy cares about this, Moria had to know something to claim John's body...Cross Guild is sorta "antagonists we like" and it's a good parallel goal to give them a happy ending. It'd also be hilarious if we somehow wonderfully get that day finally and the One Piece itself is something kinda spartan and meaningful but this other group of weirdos gets to Scrooge McDuck into a big pile of swag as like, a cold opens to the chapter. Or even as the climax of a final cover serial! Massive screw you to people who saw a news article and thought they could peek ahead. God what a weird menagerie that could be. Clown, Mafioso, two gay vampires, Gomez & Wednesday, Weevil as the guy who looks like a zombie but is just like that, hopefully Sugar & Spice samurai chicks. A dream of a world where Oda got to be fully his weird self with zero editorial oversight from Day 1.

If you get that your ass is probably as old as present-day Shanks. John's big ol yank also had an incidental impact that shaped the course of world history.
