If you want to fix the dog collar situation there's a trapdoor in my workshop that if you open it just goes straight to a lava pit. I use it for disposing of stuff. If you dispose of the dog collars in there and get them new ones (with name tags) then they shouldn't go back to the old ones? Iron doesn't generally hold magic but just in case, lava will fix it.
