Mmm yes, one of the influences and commentary of the Empire was US imperialism during the Vietnam war, with the Empire as the USA analogue and the Rebels to the Vietcong.

It's most obvious in ROTJ where you have the Imperials and their advanced technology on The Forest Moon of Endor, which comparatively looks like a primitive, backwater world that they try to build another horrific superweapon and beat the Rebels into submission on only to be overwhelmed by the Guerrilla warfare tactics and help from the indigenous Ewoks. Similar to the industrialized United States invading and bombing but effectively losing to a more agrarian society (Vietnam) for virtually the same reasons.

It ties into how the Empire is also obviously based off the Axis Powers in World War II - it's comparing US Imperialism to Fascism.

I talked about this in a vent channel on a discord server but I needed to get this off my chest publicly. I think I'm going to try and avoid anyone who has PFPs, banners, imagery and whatnot and certain spaces related to the Empire (especially those who are just too blatantly apologetic for what they did) and the Sith as much as I can with the exception of those who are kin, system mates, other things of this sort or are just otherwise harmless (i.e a server denoting its relation to star wars).

I say this because a lot of the people who do are those people who are the typical military fanboys, and some of them are even worse because they can be closet racists, fascists, etc effectively using the Star Wars factions / entities as a platform to..."let that out", I suppose, or are just otherwise unpleasant in these kinds of ways. Some of them you can tell why they have such kinds of interests immediately too, or don't get that they can like a fictitious polity or faction like the Empire without actually condoning them (or worse because they got away with supporting it fictionally they started doing so with IRL things).

I say this as a Vader kin; the Empire fucking sucks and is as illegitimate as the Rebels if not more - tell me, how did Palpatine create it? Undermining a previous government's institutions without anyone knowing to gain exorbitant amounts of political power and then deliberately causing a separatist crisis to trick them into eventually accepting his maneuvers and asinine behavior? And then what, he just starts what is effectively a religious persecution against Jedi, while also killing off or enslaving everyone who helped him get to that point and even those who were loyal to the Republic (Which became the Empire) and weren't Separatists or involved at all? Trying to create a Planet Killer and using a doctrine of rule by fear for it?

Putting aside the fact the Empire was itself formed by what any person with a rational sense and understanding of what's in Star Wars would see as a coup or act of treason, and all the other things I cannot reasonably mention here without it being too long, I see so much sanewashing of the Empire it's honestly pathetic.

Unfortunately SW is one of those series / fandoms that seems to attract these kinds of people more then others.

It was actually spurred by our Blaze the Cat, Vienna. Y'see, when she showed up here she suddenly interrupted me and took control of the body. Before that I happened to be viewing cities and architecture, some (Pre) World War 1 stuff mainly, but also importantly the modern city of Austria in Vienna, and in her disoriented state she wondered why I was. So I decided to give her a name after that.

Although I do not hide this reality any more, when I started this blog to document mishaps in inner world I decided to try and conceal my identity since I didn't want people from outside the Chao Realm to know about me sharing my body with others. So I named [REDACTED] Brussels (Capital of Belgium) and I chose the name Lansing for myself (Capital of the US State of Michigan). Then I realized it was a cool naming convention and how it helps distinguish us so I started applying it to others - naming our Cream Warsaw, so on and so fourth, using these names for people and beings we encounter in here.

I had thoughts about it reinforced by people actually referring to me as such, but I eventually decided to change my name completely to Lansing. It was a suiting name and felt better, more refreshed then MajinTails, a alias I finally ditched after about 5 Years of using and which is kind of a remnant of a bygone era, that I now only use for handles and nameclaims. There is also the fact I decided to actually have the actual, physical city of Lansing in its entirety become a linktype, partially spurred by the naming convention, but also the fact I live in and am just partial enough to Michigan itself.

There are like only two oddities or exceptions to this: We have the actual planet of Mars in here (seriously still trying to figure that out) and it obviously is a "place", so it has no other name. But really that means there is only one actually, being the Red Dragon from the Wales flag (yes, really) having shown up in here. He actually refused having a name like what we usually do, and i say good on him for telling me not to give him one, I won't do that if it bothers them or they don't want it.

Hi there! Name's Dublin. You might know me more familiarly as Miles "Tails" Prower, and I showed up here in the Chao Realm just today, actually. Now, I've been in this world before, actually - just had to flip over to the Chao Realm after things got bad elsewhere. Glad to be here and now everything's in the clear, though!

I'm a little different from 'canon' / SEGA's Tails, the main thing is that I actually never met Sonic or his friends - wonder if someone else had taken my place with them or if it was just 'vacant'. In any case, though, I actually turned out quite fine and I did know who they were, just that I didn't "know" know or meet them personally. I lived with my actual family and like always had many misadventures, hardships, good memories and bad ones. If I may, I find myself to have a slightly more modest personality then in official sources, at least from what I know. I also usually went by Miles over Tails to the point I've...actually forgotten at times - even now - Tails is also a name of mine, though I'm starting to warm up to and use it more.

But anyway, none of that is not really what I'm here to talk about - I'll probably go more into it all later. Earlier, around me showing up here, on Discord a user went by the name "Anton". The name struck me as a bit familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Lansing believed I might of been thinking of Antoine, to which I answered the (now obvious) no. Discord Anton wanted to know who the other Anton was when I remembered, so of course, I obliged. Then it clicked, and you can probably guess it: The Anton I was remembering was my father. Ahahahah. I don't yet remember too much of Anton Prower, just that he had a auburn fur color and we both had matching blue eyes. He was some kind of archaeologist, exploring the entire world and seeing all these excavation sites, ancient temples, so on and so fourth.

So he had quite a busy job and lots of history, you might imagine. While I didn't always see him as a result, I do recall my dad being quite a courageous figure, always up for a fight and solving issues no matter how daunting a challenge it is. He was rough and to the point, where he actually kind of gave a certain wisdom to that blunt attitude. He's actually not some super "tough all the time" guy though, he can be tender around family at least and knows when to save it. He's also super supportive, let me indulge all my hobbies and interests - lots of fun contraptions and planes and other stuff I made or which we looked at together. I don't really remember my mother yet, just that she was the more disciplinary of the two parents, but not really strict though - only more likely to scold you for doing something wrong ahahaha. Clearly they liked each-other though and they had like 4 kids (I'm the youngest).

I also remember he always liked to wear these sort of off white boots and jacket, not sure why, but you could tell they were showing signs of significant use and age - stains, dirt, some tears in the jacket, basic patchwork to fix them, other things of this sort. Maybe a bit of a weird choice to wear colors that obviously erode given his profession, but y'know what, you do you dad. Kinda looks cool and shows signs of Humility and Grace. Whatever he has seen, you can tell how it shaped him, and how it extends to both my parents, they both very obviously shaped me. Both were actually great people and good influences all around, I would say. I hope I can remember more of my whole family soon, very grateful to have had them. :)

I must admit, though, I hear of Sonic and the others - the more familiar, oh so famous group of friends - and I wonder what would of happened had I (or we) met them, if I would of walked a different path...of course, it was very funny and cool to see someone in this world, with the same name as my father.
