#changsub drabble

“I can feel a pair of little eyes watching us over there.”

Your head snapped around as Changsub spoke, stopping midway through getting into his car. As you looked back to your apartment, you noticed a figure quickly ducking down in the living room window, with their fingertips still on show. A sigh came from you as you kept your eyes on the house, knowing that beside you Changsub was doing exactly the same.

“Is that your little sister?” He innocently asked you, chuckling at how quick the figure was to duck as soon as they realised that they were spotted.

A weak smile formed in your expression as you got into the car with a shake of your head. Your heart raced as Changsub closed the car door for you before making his way around to get into the driver’s side of the car.

You could tell as he did so that his eyes were still looking back to your home to catch another glimpse of the figure. It wasn’t going to be something that he would just forget, with intrigue as ever getting the better of him.

Yet as he got into the car, Changsub could tell how stiff you were, with your eyes staring forwards, and almost as if you didn’t want to acknowledge that he was with you any longer.

“Do I get to find out who that little sweetheart was?”

A deflated drop of your shoulders followed Changsub’s question, nodding your head before you really thought. The two of you had only been on a handful of dates, and now you had been thrown in at the deep end in the worst possible way.

“She’s a bit more of a closer relation to me than a little sister,” you subtly explained to him.

“How much closer can you get then siblings?” He laughed in reply to you, placing his car key into the ignition, “unless she’s your daughter or something perhaps.”

There was a moment of silence from you, as Changsub’s head turned around to face you, “would it bother you that much if I said she was?”

“N-no,” he stuttered, taken aback. He was expecting you to laugh and joke how funny it would be for her to be your daughter, never expecting for it to actually be true.

You were terrified as you noticed Changsub’s expression drop, “you look like you’re horrified that she’s my daughter, maybe we should just call it a night for tonight, it’s alright.”

As you went to unbuckle your seatbelt, a hand reached across and quickly stopped you. Changsub was surprised to say the least, but it didn’t change how he felt about you, despite what you were thinking as you studied his expression closely.

“I can’t believe you’re a mum,” he whispered, keeping a tight grip on your hand, “you seem like you’ve got it all so together, fresh as a daisy. I could never have imagined that you’d be a mum when you’re so organised, strong, but now that I’ve seen your daughter, it makes sense why you’re such an incredible person.”

“If you take one step in my house, I promise that you will see that I’ve far from got it all together,” you lightly joked in reply, “you can barely step around my home without landing on a doll or a toy car that’s being raced around.”

The more you spoke, the more Changsub’s smile grew, the qualities that he had picked up of yours that he admired fell into place more and more as you told him about parenthood.

The way you cared for him since your very first date, how you had everything in your bag that someone could need in case an accident happened made so much more sense. They were little things that Changsub had appreciated, but now he was seeing exactly why you were so prepared for anything that life through your way.

“I wasn’t quite expecting her to spy on me, my mum’s supposed to be babysitting tonight.”

“I wonder if she likes me,” Changsub suggested, “does she have high expectations?”

Your head shook back to Changsub as he finally began to pull away from your home to get to your location for your date night. As you did, you noticed a head peeking up over your window, watching the two of you pull away.

“She’s been wondering when she can meet you, but I don’t want to rush things.”

“I don’t mind,” Changsub responded, taking you by surprise. “I know we’ve only been on a few dates, and maybe you probably wouldn’t have told me about her for some time if she hadn’t spied on me, but if she’s nosy, then isn’t a good step to take and not worry about anymore.”

You knew that Changsub had a point, getting your daughter’s approval was the most important thing to you whenever a new person came into your life. If she could get along with Changsub then it would be by far the biggest hurdle that you’d have to step over, not to mention how much more comfortable you’d be around Changsub too.

“Is that something that you’d really want to do?”

Changsub nodded confidently, convinced that he would be able to impress your daughter, having already whisked you off of your feet since the very first date that you had.

“I love kids,” he encouraged, turning his eyes away from you to focus on the road, “and I love cars, so maybe I can show her a thing or two at your house one day. It’s your decision though, I don’t want to pressurise you.”

“No, I think that it would be good too.”

It was far from the direction that you imagined your date going on, but at the same time it felt right. There was something about Changsub that you just trusted, and you knew that your daughter would trust in him too.

“Maybe we can arrange something for our next date,” he suggested.

Your head nodded in agreement back at him, “are you sure that you want to meet her? She’s a handful, you won’t get a second to breathe when you’re around her.”

“If she’s anything like you, we’ll get on like a house on fire,” Changsub encouraged, reaching across to rest his hand against the top of your leg, “she must like me a little bit already to want to spy on me too.”

“She definitely wanted to see what you looked like,” you chuckled, “and also apparently she wants to make sure that you’re a gentleman around me too.”

A loud roar of laughter came from Changsub, “I’ll make sure that I’m on my best behaviour when I’m with her in that case, and make sure that I treat you well, although I’m sure that I already do that, don’t I?”

“I’ve already told her how amazing you are,” you promised, “I think that’s why she’s so keen to find out some more about you.”

Changsub’s smile widened once again, “I’ll have the two of you falling in love with me soon enough, you just wait and see.”

“You sound pretty confident,” you joked, “are you really prepared to enter my crazy world?”

“Absolutely, your crazy world seems amazing.”

A ⇴ AFFECTION

He loves being cuddly around you, especially when he needs a little pick me up. There is never anything more comforting for Changsub then being able to be around you and be affectionate around you too.

B ⇴ BOYS

You were the perfect fit amongst the group, the boys all loved how funny you were and seeing just how well you complimented Changsub. Your jokes and your teasing of each other often had the others in stitches, quite often they would just sit back and watch the two of you, knowing something funny was bound to happen.

C ⇴ COMFORT

Changsub was an incredible shoulder to cry on, he was a great listener and always gave you such good advice too. Although he didn’t appear like he was good at the whole comfort thing, he was actually the best, always with open arms ready for you to climb into whenever you felt that you needed to offload.

D ⇴ DOMESTICATED

You never failed to appreciate when Changsub helped you with various things around the house, the only problem was that he was never really good at it. Quite often he would end up making even more of a mess or forget one of the steps of what he was supposed to do, leaving you no choice but to go back and do it again after him, hearing him apologise again and again for messing up behind you as you went.

E ⇴ ENGAGEMENT

A lot of pressure was placed on Changsub’s shoulders for your engagement, mainly put there by himself. He wanted desperately to make sure that everything went perfectly, he had plenty of restless nights fretting over the tiniest of details, trying to remember all of the things that you had told him over the years that you wanted for when you got engaged as he tried his best to pull your dream off.

F ⇴ FAVOURITE THING

Changusb’s favourite thing about being with you is having someone who is always there for him. Having you through all of the laughter, but all of the turmoil too means the world to him, whilst he tries his best to keep his smile on his face all the time around the fans and the boys, around you he knows that he can let those walls down that he works incredibly hard to keep up around everyone else.

G ⇴ GOING OUT

You both tend to vary how your days and nights are spent, you don’t tend to turn down an invite if someone has invited you out, or go and explore for yourselves too, but on the days when you’re both especially burnt out, then you’re more than happy to spend the evening at home together and do absolutely nothing.

H ⇴ HONEYMOON

Every part of your honeymoon was planned by Changsub, he wanted to make sure that everything was under control, and also things that you wanted to do. He stopped you doing anything, knowing that you’d try and involve some of the things that he wanted to do, with him wanting to make the trip about you instead.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”

He always made sure to tell you that he loved you at least once every day as the bare minimum to make sure that you never forgot how much he cared. If he hadn’t said it yet, it would play on his mind until he was able to see you in person and say it or get to his phone when he was on the road and send a text to you.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

Although he definitely didn’t get quite as jealous after the two of you got married, there were still some moments when you’d be able to tell that he was entering a bad mood because he wasn’t happy about what was going on. It was a habit of his that you knew like the back of your hand, the same signs were always there, and when you spotted them, you always tried your best to reassure him again too.

K ⇴ KIDS

Neither of you ever put any pressure on yourselves to have kids, even after you settled down and got married. You both took the view that the less you thought about getting pregnant and worried about it, the more likely it would be to happen, and the happier you would be when it eventually happened too.

A ⇴ ATTENTION

He didn’t like to give you the satisfaction of knowing that he was putting his attention on you, and so Changsub would try and be as subtle as possible with his affection in the hope that you wouldn’t notice him.

B ⇴ BICKER

Both of you were well known for your bickering and how childish you could be. As much as you wanted to try and stop, you couldn’t help yourselves, especially when the inevitable low blow came from the other person too, that would usually be when you really would tart squabbling with one another.

C ⇴ COMFORT

He was always there for you, whenever you were upset you could rely on Changsub. It would usually be when the more serious side of him would appear too as he tried his best to come up with the best possible solution that would help you, leaving his jokes to one side for a while until he saw you smiling again.

For the two of you to disagree to the point where you started an argument was an incredibly rare time. You both knew how to wind each other up if you wanted to, but you also knew when the other person was getting irritated and when to stay quiet. If you did end up arguing with each other, it was usually because one of you had been left so frustrated by your day that all you wanted to do was shout at someone.

E ⇴ EARLY YEARS

It didn’t take long for the two of you to click, especially with how quickly you found yourselves constantly laughing around each other. You warmed to Changsub pretty early on, as loud and as funny as he was, you were drawn more to the softer side of him. He cared about you from the start and paid a great deal of interest to the things that you said to him too which made you like him even more.

Changsub’s family were some of your favourite people in the world because of how kind they were towards you. Having them there was something that you loved, you trusted them and knew that if you ever needed them, they’d be there. It was something that meant a great deal to Changsub too, even if sometimes it did feel as if he was being replaced by his parents with how well you all got along.

G ⇴ GETTING TOGETHER

If the two of you did go out anywhere, it tended to be to a spot that was pretty quiet. Neither of you were fans of busy places and the hustle of the centre of the city, instead you quite liked to just get in your car and drive until you found a spot where you’d at least be able to hear the sound of your own voices.

H ⇴ HABITS

The two of you had a habit of laughing too hard quite a lot of the time and almost getting into trouble. You often got stared at when you were out because of how loud the two of you were when you giggled, or when you’d start rolling around and laughing, there were plenty of near misses with the furniture.

I ⇴ INSIDE JOKES

Together the two of you had so many inside jokes it was pretty tricky for you both to actually remember them all. You both often had those moments when a little lightbulb would go off in your head because you remembered another joke that you had, wondering if the other person remembered it too.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

His face was usually the only clue that you needed to know when Changsub was jealous, he had a pretty tricky way of hiding it. It was one of your favourite things about him as he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from rolling his eyes or scoffing whenever the person that was making him jealous did something. It usually left you having to apologise on his behalf as he tended to end up dropping himself in it.

K ⇴ KICKS

Changsub got a kick out of teasing you and knowing that he was getting under your skin. Very little was off limits for the two of you, but he loved the moment if you were going back and forth when he’d say something and leave you speechless, knowing that he’d definitely won that round of bickering between you both.

The look on Changsub’s face brought a laugh out of you as you began to pull the new tent that the two of you had brought out of the back of his car, throwing it down onto the ground, confident to get it up.

“Don’t look like that,” you scolded, hitting gently against his arm as his head shook at the mess that all of the pieces were in in front of you both.

A sigh came from Changsub, “you really think that we’re going to be able to build this? Where even are the instructions for this thing?”

A soft sigh came from you as you rolled away from Changsub, hearing him catch his breath beside you. Your eyes flickered across to look at him, studying the smug smile that he always seemed to wear at the end of an evening with you.

Once you’d caught your breath too, your hand reached across to grab your phone from the bedside table, scrolling through your notifications. As one name in particular caught your attention, your breath hitched, capturing Changsub’s attention.

You could feel his eyes staring at you as you read through the message Daewon had sent you, however your reply wasn’t so quick, giving Changsub time to read through the message, processing, and trying to ignore.

“Something funny?” He questioned, pretending as if he was clueless as to what was unfolding in front of him.

“Yeah,” you smiled, placing your phone back to the table. However, as you looked across to at Changsub, it was no longer his face that you could see in front of you.

You sighed softly, scratching over the top of your head, shaking your head at yourself. At times you wondered what you were doing, with Changsub beside you, there were no feelings attached, but with Daewon, it began to feel like the start of something special.

With Changsub’s eyes still firmly on you, you felt a shell of the person you were just a few moments ago, tightening the duvet that was wrapped around your body.

“Have you ever thought about finding a girlfriend Changsub? Dating?”

His eyes widened, continuing to play his game of obliviousness. “Not really, why? Have you thought about finding a boyfriend recently?”

“It’s been in the back of my mind a little bit to be honest.”

His head nodded, taken aback by how displeased he was, feeling you slip away. By the smile on your face Changsub could tell that something good was happening for you.

“You want to end things?”

You weren’t quite expecting him to be quite so abrupt, but as far as his feelings, or lack of, were concerned, Changsub was never going to mess around. He knew what he wanted, and if you weren’t going to give him that, then perhaps letting you slip away was for the best.

“Let me guess, someone has already taken you from me?”

“What makes you say that?”

“It’s obvious Y/N,” he sighed, “there’s been something different about you for some time.”

You smiled softly, hearing the hurt in Changsub’s voice as he realised that for some time, you’d been considering walking away. With no strings attached, you thought it would be easy, but now you were before Changsub, it was anything but.

“If someone else makes you happy, you should go.”

“Someone else does make me happy,” you admitted, feeling his body tense up beside you, “but you also make me happy Changsub, as much as I know that shouldn’t happen. There’s this guy, we’ve only been on a couple of dates, but something might be there, and I’m not going to start sleeping around with two guys, it’s got to be you or him for me.”

“And am I an option?” He honestly questioned, rolling onto his side so that he could look at you better. “Do I compare to the other guy at all?”

Your eyes slowly looked up to him, shrugging your shoulders. The truth was, you didn’t know, emotions were never supposed to be involved with Changsub, but as things felt like they were beginning to come to an end, several began to emerge.

“For months, maybe even a year, we’ve been nothing but sex Changsub. It’s easy to just treat what we have as sex, but the truth is, for me at least, it feels a little more than sex.”

“It feels that way for me too.”

His response left you stunned, as your lips parted, Changsub let go of a chuckle, impressed by how surprised he had managed to make you.

“You’re the one that told me that we were sex, the one that told me once your climax hit, I was nothing to you, and now you’re telling me that this could be more.”

“I never imagined it could be more, until now.”

Your head and your heart told you two different things, whilst Changsub never failed when it came to delivering the thrill, Daewon offered you a security and comfort that you’d never managed to feel in a relationship before.

“If you want to go, then I’d understand.”

Your head shook back at Changsub, “I don’t know if I want to go or stay. I was prepared to walk away, thinking that you could never possibly care about me, but you do.”

His head nodded, confirming that your thoughts were true, as much as he tried to supress it, Changsub cared for you a lot. Of course, you were just sex, but as the sex got better, you were so much more to him too.

“I’m sure this other guy is great, but I just know I could treat you better Y/N, if we just let our feelings get involved.”

“Are you just saying this to keep me with you?”

He understood why you had your doubts, the timing was certainly convenient, but if anything, it only let Changsub know the feelings he’d questioned for some time were true.

“I’m saying it because it’s true, and because I want to keep you too.”

Underneath the duvet, you felt Changsub’s hand brush over yours, his fingers intertwining in with yours despite your reluctance to let him in. A sigh came from you as Changsub squeezed against your hand, silently pleading with you to stay.

“How can I just stay Changsub? I have someone else, someone who I had a good something starting with. It’s not as easy as just staying in bed and being able to forget that those dates with Daewon happened.”

“Three dates Y/N, are you going to throw away what we have for three dates?”

Once more, your shoulders shrugged, unable to figure out what exactly you wanted. The more Changsub spoke, the more he opened up, the more you found yourself leaning into him, as if it was what you’d wanted all along.

“We’ve had a connection for months, neither of us could admit it though.”

“Our connection is sex Changsub, we’ve learnt about each other through sex, I’d hardly call that a connection so far, would you?”

“So, let’s work on that, let’s build a connection past sex. I do know you Y/N, as a person, and I can tell that you like this guy, but you like me more. One date, a leveller, give me one date and I’ll prove that I’m better than this other guy.”

“Is that really what you’re willing to do?”

Changsub nodded confidently, “for you? Definitely. All I need is one chance to show you that you’re more than just sex to me, if you’ll give me that chance?”

Before you knew it, you found yourself nodding too, with your heart assuring you that you weren’t quite ready to let go of Changsub quite so easily.

Your head was smart, Daewon was a good choice for you, but you couldn’t ignore the way that Changsub made your heart race every time that you were in the same room as him.

“Let me pick you up tomorrow, I’ll take you some place night and show you the real Changsub, the man I can be for you.”

“You’ve got one date Changsub, that’s the only chance I’m giving you if you don’t want me to walk away from you.”

“One date is all I need; I know what you like.”

“I’m sure there’s very little that you know about me that doesn’t revolve around sex,” you tried to argue with him.

“Then, allow me to take you by surprise.”

A ⇴ AFFECTION

More than anything else Changsub loves to get cuddly with you and close the distance between the two of you as much as possible. Your bump just gives him that extra bit of encouragement that he needs to reach out and pull you close.

Changsub makes sure to do plenty of research about pregnancy so he knows how he can make himself useful to you. One of the areas he specialises is definitely your bump. Changsub makes sure to do plenty of research on techniques that he can use to help out with your bump to try and ease your pain and make you as comfortable as he can for most of the time.

C ⇴ CRAVINGS 

One of the things he loves about your pregnancy the most is your cravings as it gives him the perfect excuse to snack, never wanting you to eat alone especially late at night. How diet isn’t quite as restricted whilst your pregnant as a result of Changsub’s frequent sympathy snacking whenever you’re craving something.

D ⇴ DUE DATE

Neither of you thought about your due date throughout almost the entirety of your pregnancy, however that changed the week before. Suddenly as you began to tell people that you were at thirty nine weeks, the reality sunk in for the two of you that your due date really was right around the corner and wasn’t just something that the two of you could shrug off as something far away for any longer.

E ⇴ EMOTIONS

Changsub is well known to be a lover of kids, with kids loving him too, and so having one of his own very much felt like a dream come true for him. He couldn’t wait to enjoy all of the moments of children that he usually missed out on when they weren’t his. Nappies, sick, Changsub didn’t mind at all, he was more than ready to throw himself into just about anything and finally enjoy the chance to call himself a father.

F ⇴ FAMILY 

The two of you decided to keep your news private for as long as possible after finding out you were pregnant, enjoying the bubble of just the two of you and your families being the only ones that knew. Changsub was nervous of what the reaction would be, but once you eventually started to show properly the two of you were left with no other choice but to pop your bubble and let the rest of the world know too.

Both of you agreed that you would wait to find out the gender of your baby until the end and tease yourself over the nine months with guesses and feelings. Although you both predicted that your baby would be a boy, neither of you would know whether that prediction was true or not until the very end.

H ⇴ HEARTBEAT 

Hearing the beat of your baby’s heart was quite the reality check for Changsub, the first moment when it really began to sink in for him that you were pregnant and that an actual human life was about to enter the world and rely on him. You could tell by his wide eyes as he listened that it was a new feeling for him as the reality hit him like a tonne of bricks.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU” 

Although Changsub didn’t tell you that he loved you too much, whenever he did it always came from the bottom of his heart. He didn’t want to overuse the words and make them lose meaning and so he hoped that rather than saying it, more often his actions proved to you that he loved you by always taking the best care of you.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY 

He absolutely refused to ever let anything or anyone succeed in making him jealous whilst you were pregnant, Changsub was in far too big of a bubble of excitement and anticipation to let anyone try and pop it. Of course there were people that liked to push his buttons, but he was happy and optimistic and no comment from someone else was ever going to stop him from being excited about what was to come for you both.

K ⇴ KICKS 

You would always be able to definitely tell when your baby had kicked as you’d hear soft giggles coming from Changsub in excitement whenever he managed to catch a kick. His eyes would always look back at you in a buzz when you nodded back at him to let him know that it was definitely a kick that he had felt.
