she was skeptical, a little on edge. heather was going to the haunted corn maze with her? this had to be some kind of trick... a joke that was being played on her. billy had to be in on this, right? getting her hopes up, just to rip everything away. or maybe she didn't give the older girl enough credit. "you want to go to a corn maze, one in the middle of an apple orchard? are you not afraid of ruining your perfect shoes? or that the wind might blow your hair in the wrong direction?" maybe she was being a little harsh, but the two of them didn't get along. not really. they sort of tolerated each other for billy's sake, but that was all. wasn't it?
