What truly is the unknown? He knows somethings about it but not enough. Curiosity, is what plunges Alan to watch him, or more so quietly observe from the tree line.
The Unknown, to him is like a horror story come to life.
@champion-of-light || Alan Wake & The Unknown || unprompted.
No one knew what the Unknown was. Not what it truly was. No one knew of its origin, of its purpose. Could it think? Could it desire? Or was it simply a beast slave to baser instincts, glutting itself off fear and intrigue? It shambles through the trees, surprisingly agile and mobile for such a twisted form. It should not move the way it did, easily stalking through the trees on broken limbs.
It shudders, its muscles twitching, a low gurgle emanates from its throat.
It's hard to stalk the Unknown. Hard to hide from it. Once you knew of it, thought of it, it was akin to a virus taking hold. Burrowing inside the mind, clinging to the psyche. It stills in its march, straightening its back to its full height. It's a towering presence, its stature only diminished by its awkward anatomy.
" WhO'S theRE? "
Despite the voice sounding oddly frightened, it is nothing but a trick. A voice stolen from another, including inflection. No. Underneath it all, the creature was oddly amused.

Skull Kid’s stomach grumbled and he sighed. He didn’t feel like finding berries or skewering a bird. All those took more effort than he felt like exerting right now. Perhaps he’d just sneak onto that ranch and help himself to some Cucoo eggs and milk.. But he just groaned completely unmotivated and just flopped on his back closing his eyes.
Soon he felt a shadow looming and peeked one eye open at the figure standing above him.
“Gee, can’t a guy at least die in the warm comfort of the sun before meeting the cold embrace of death?”

"Put it down."
"I… I can’t…"
Even as the flare was starting to burn her fingers, its red light illuminated the frightened tears coursing down Nora’s cheeks. The last attack had taken a toll on her, both physically and mentally. She could trust Alan—she knew that—but terror still drove her to take a step back, holding the lit flare out between them and letting out a hysteric cry.
"Can’t you see? It’s the only thing keeping the darkness away!"

Ani stared at the stranger with confusion, tilting her head curiously as she started to scan the area before she found herself standing at the broken dock that once led to the cabin on Cauldron Lake.
There was nothing there that stood in the middle of the waters, no signs of life besides the fish. Her scanners were clearer, brighter even. She soon came to realize that she was now back in the realm of reality, where she knew that in a moment that the other program that had accompanied her to this location would find her.
Though, she didn't mind the waiting. She felt that even with being where the real was real, the android couldn't believe that she was out of that Dark Place. She didn't have to worry about some shadows attacking her in the dead of night that lasted as long as ones during the winter, even cold too.
And there was no need to watch over a human writer who had the odd ability to recreate the area around him with phrases and sentences on a page. There was...
No, her processor stopped her train of thought. She was slowly feeling that she had failed a mission. She didn't. Her priority objective was to investigate the odd disappearance that occurred in this small town and now that they have found the answer, they can leave and go back to fighting Templars and searching a way to stop Juno's rising.
"Ah, there you are."
The android turned, facing her brother program Anthony who looked more peeved than pleased to see her. He questioned about her whereabouts and even some notes of injuries she had sustained. Pushing away the inquiries for another time, she took another look back at the lake.
Her mission here was done and as much as she was reluctant to do so, she had to go back to their own fight against another sort of metaphoric Darkness.
Silent Hill Redux
Cheryl hated the forest, and she pressed its boundaries whenever she could.
Which made it natural, really, that she would press hard enough to form cracks in it.
Trouble was, those cracks showed through to places that should have been familiar to Cheryl.
But, driven half-mad by the sameness of it all, Cheryl was ecstatic to find something even slightly different to the routine they had become accustomed to.
"Alan!" she said, entering the cabin and looking slightly wild-eyed. "I think I found a way out."
