Challenge #98: Practice Makes Progress: Whimsy Wisteria
Ever since I was a teen, I have always enjoyed drawing drapery and clothing details. The original drawing was done in 2002, at age 14, when frilly boho skirts were in and I was heavily influenced by anime. I decided to rework the pose and give her garments an update with a wisteria twist!

Challenge #98: Practice Makes Progress: Chromatophores
Hello all, this is my first challenge as a Square Carousel Sub. Â The original octopus piece up top is from my 2D design class from my freshman year at SCAD. Â It always has had a special place in my heart and has stuck with me throughout many moves. Â It was such a great experience to recreate artwork from a different phase of my life, and I love holding up the two pieces next to each other.

Challenge #98: Practice Makes Progress: Dear Old Dad The piece I chose to revisit was a portrait I drew of my dad when I was three. I always really liked it, and even though my illustration style isn’t quite as expressive these days, I’ve always held onto this doodle to remind myself I’ve always been creative. Challenge 98: Practice Makes Progress : Sketchbook Superhero The progression that I see in my own work today, is reflected by the act of how I used my sketchbooks from then to how I use them today. I used to just draw and seem to waste a page for one small drawing in the corners and then the rest of the page empty. However nowadays I seem to fill a page / use the whole page for an idea. Even to the point of losing the fear of drawing in normal everyday book/ textbooks. Now I find myself drawing in alter books; making them into my own sketchbook idea board or into their own little masterpieces. Emily, eequalsmca.com
