Challenge 136 : Fairy Tale Swap : Shippeitaro

An amazing sketch from Jordon of a Japanese fairy tale of a magnificent heroic dog “Shippeitaro". (Read the tale here) It’s amazing how alike ideas and sketches seem to form from this challenge, like ourselves. That it only feels right to style swap with Jordon sketch with my own, a great artistic partnership I believe.

Challenge 135 : YA Book Jacket : Speak Never of What’s to Come

What an adventure to jump into a book and find out where it will all take you. Down a fictional fantasy adventure, a romantic in counter, a building friendship, a comedic dystopian bond, or a horrific mystery of unconscious devastation. What is beyond the pages, of what we soon will never find out. An adventure none the else creating a book jacket with the brilliant mind and idea from art director/ author Caitlin. All the different ways of interpretation you can truly never judge a book by it cover but love the mystery of what’s to come from it.

Challenge 131 : What I learned from the Pandemic : It's a Mad House

These times seem to foster a beautiful sense of togetherness, even at a distance, however. As we fall further and further down into the rabbit hole, not knowing when the true end will be; we dive into the brinks of our own insanity. With whole families being home every minute of every day, not having a space to crawl away, can really drive a person quite mad. There’s only so much time one can spend with one another. With insanity already set in, learning new ways to help with our own mental health and creating a space or at least moments of safe escapes has been a necessity to finding normality.

Challenge 130 : Zodiacs: Libra Monkey

I was born early October in ‘92, meaning the astronomical zodiac sign for Libra and the Chinese Zodiac year of the monkey. Two signs that seem to in part contradicting the other signs sides. The Libra sign symbolized scales, a balance, a sense of calm equilibrium. The complete opposite of what you think about when you think monkey. Monkeys contemplate the ideas of chaos and acts of rambunctiousness, a wildness that is for the most part untamed. Two sign, polar opposite from either other, however living in a unique unison to either in the form of crazy old me. A determined monkey in light of a delicious bounty of bananas, trying to balance and control the chaos and still enjoy the delightfulness of a sweet treat.

Challenge 126: Twenties-Something: Nosferatu

Initially when this challenge first came about I had absolutely no idea where to start. The stuff I was researching didnt seem to fit anything I was looking to create or develop a concept from. A few days into it, another member posted on the Square Carousel instagram and immediately set me on a streak of ideas. I eventually stayed on Nosferatu. This gave me the perfect excuse to finally watch the movie, which I think is incredibly creepy despite the fact it is a silent film. Studying a lot of storytelling and the history of film making, this movie came up quite a bit and I am happy to have finally watched it. Hope you enjoy the illustration!

Challenge 127: Dream Lover: Isn’t She Lovely

My interpretation of this challenge led me to think about what I spend most of my time daydreaming about: plants! I wanted to illustrate a girl who has a few plant of her own, but always dreams for more–much like myself.

Challenge 127 : Dream Lover : Sweet Dream

Have you ever heard an old fashion saying that says, to get to a man/woman heart is to go through their stomach? Food seems to bind people together but also become the initial items that we desire. Wither that be for a mouth-watering ever so slightly salt fries or that sweet tooth desire of delicious donuts. We go as far as to dreaming of our next in counter and the delicious taste that we crave to follow. So sprinkle on some sugar and have a sweet dream.

Challenge 126: Twenties-Something: An Afternoon in the Window


I was immediately drawn to creating something inspired by a mix of Mucha and Art Deco style. Because of a death in the family I chose to simplify the design but overall I’m very happy with the results. This panel will be available for sale in the studio
