Teal eyes purposely rolled at his comment. “You’re such a baby, aren’t you supposed to be some LEGEND?” She huffed, yet her tone was not unkind. Flicking a small fan close to her face, more to HIDE the small smile currently on her lips, rather than to provide any relief from the heat. She was happy to see him, && for once she didn’t especially mind waiting for the kage meeting to end.

mei was surprised to get a letter from kakashi, of all people. she knew him from years ago when they both much younger (much happier). before she mizukage, before she was even a hunter nin. she developed a young crush on him when she saw him as a young girl, but her young years are over. she hasn’t seen the man in years. the letter talked about zabuza and how he was dead (how those words stung her): she could only assume he died by kakashi’s hand. she wasn’t too surprised on the news. she figured he would be dead by now because he just loved death. but, the letter spoke of his resting place. she didn’t care about the mountain of paperwork on her desk -- she had to go: she has to say goodbye to her old teammate (her old friend).

&& so, here she is. all alone in front of zabuza’s grave. she brought water lilies with her to lay on his grave. the mizukage just stared at his grave && her visible eye looked at his sword. a once great swordsmen, but now he is dead --- && she’s still alive. she has to wonder if kisame is still alive as well. she knows he is part of the akatsuki && sooner or later he will die as well. && she will still be alive. what a cruel and unfair life. mei placed the flowers on his grave, stood back up, and whispered down to him;

              ❛I should have been harder on you. I should have done more. i’m sorry.”

  mei looked beside zabuza’s grave and raised a brow. just who is this? the letter did not state about this grave. was it here before they buried him? they are both unmarked expect for a token of their former selves. as she was deep in thought her hunter nin senses kick in -- she’s not alone anymore. she doesn’t move an inch nor does she turn her head toward the presence. but she knows who is here. the person who sent her the letter.
