The Sandy Shores trailer was glowing faint orange from the sunset, but inside, everything was loud and messy in a good way. Wade had cranked the boombox until the walls shook with thumping bass, ICP verses spilling out.

Chad was sitting cross-legged on the couch, cheeks already covered with orange Cheeto dust. He was smaller like this, quieter in the jittery way, words tumbling out but softer, like he didn’t feel like he had to be funny or clever all the time... I mean not that he was clever normally anyway.

Wade plopped beside him with a plastic bag full of Faygo bottles. He held one out with a proud grin. “Lil’ Bangsy, pick your flavor. Redpop, grape, or—” He squinted at the label. “Uh… cotton candy? Could've sworn I got rockin rye”

“Red!” Chad chirped, snatching the bottle with both hands like it was treasure. He twisted at the cap, tongue poking out in concentration, until Wade gently covered his hands. “Easy, buddy, don’t bust it.” He cracked the fizz open himself, passing it back, and watched Chad beam as he took his first sip, lips stained bright pink.

On the coffee table, an old makeup bag was cracked open. Wade rummaged through it like a magician’s hat, pulling out eyeliner pencils, cheap palettes, a paintbrush with bristles sticking out. “Okay, clown time,” Wade announced. “But you gotta sit still, Lil’ Bangsy. Juggalos don’t wiggle.”

Chad puffed up his cheeks, trying very hard to sit properly as Wade leaned in close. The pencil scratched gently over his pale skin, tracing a wide, wobbly diamond around one eye. Chad giggled when Wade’s thumb smudged his cheek by accident.

“What’s it mean?” Chad mumbled, referring to the makeup, voice syrupy from the soda.

“It means we’re family,” Wade said, suddenly soft. He met Chad’s darting eyes and tapped the little star he’d drawn at the corner of his mouth. “Juggalos look out for each other, no matter what. Doesn’t matter if you’re broke or weird or… y’know, just you.”

Chad’s smile turned shy, the kind where he tucked his chin into his shoulder. “I’m weird,” he admitted in a tiny voice.

“Yeah,” Wade said warmly, drawing a crooked grin on Chad’s face with black paint. “Me too. That’s why we’re the best.”

When the makeup was done, Wade held up a scratched compact mirror. Chad squinted at his reflection, face split between smudgy clown paint and Cheeto streaks. He let out a delighted little cackle, bouncing in place. “I look like a scary clown!”

“The scariest,” Wade agreed, ruffling his patchy blonde hair. “Scary clown with the biggest heart in Blaine County.”

And for the rest of the night, between sticky fingers, messy snacks, and songs too loud for the neighbors, Chad let himself believe it.

For a hot minute, Chad actually worked as a magazine model to scrape together some extra cash. But it didn’t last long — Trevor kept sending anonymous letters to the company like: “Why are you hiring methheads???” 💀 So yeah… Chad got fired.

Tattoos:

Emo heart (the only one he actually wanted).

Neck knife tattoo to match Trevor’s “cut here” (romantic? questionable).

“T.P.I.” scrawled on him while unconscious because Trevor knocked him out and did it himself. It’s infected. He NEEDS to go to the hospital before he gets sepsis. (Franklin spotted it while Chad was fixing Lamar’s car and literally dragged his ass to the hospital.)

Other body mods: Chad let Wade pierce his ears and sobbed the entire time.

My previous art of Chad (with my body type) = that’s happy AU Chad if life had been kind. But canon Chad is super skinny from meth use and not eating enough.

Fashion icon: only wears awful, bright-ass boxers. Like cyan Nike boxers. That’s it.

Chad is absolutely riddled with acne and has tried everything to fix it. Doesn’t matter. Trevor actually likes it because Chad lets him pop his pimples.

Like I said Chad was once a model but he HATED it. Dude refuses to be naked unless it’s freaky time with Trevor (and even then he keeps his vest on & boxers halfway up). So being forced shirtless for photoshoots was like actual torture.

Chad desperately needs Trevor to bite him and Trevor has extreme cuteness aggression towards chad (this is why he’s always covered in bite marks).

Chad talks to inanimate objects, especially his old skateboard — like it’s his loyal best friend. People think he’s losing it, but to him it’s company.

When Chad was younger he used to be a promising musician. Played guitar in little local bands before meth took over. Still carries a beat-up acoustic around, plays random chords, sometimes busks for spare change.

NPC Gossip:

“Ain’t that the kid who talks to his skateboard? Saw him arguing with it outside 24/7.”

“Trevor’s been chewin’ on him again. Poor bastard looks like a dog toy.”

“I saw him get dragged into the ER by Franklin ‘cause his tattoo was infected. He was screamin’ about how the doctors were trying to steal his blood.”

Playable Character Gossip:

Trevor: “He’s my little meth gremlin. That modeling company tried to fuckin steal him so I got him fired.”

Michael: “I let him house-sit once. He ate all the yogurt, left the TV on a static channel for three days straight, and there were bite marks on my couch. Never again.”

Franklin: “Man, I had to haul his dumb ass to the hospital ‘cause he was rotting alive. Stupid kid.”

Lamar: “That’s my Chaddyboy! He’s dumb as bricks but he gets the job done… sometimes.”

Ron: “He gets it. The satellites, the government juice, the chemtrails—he knows.”

Wade: “I pierced his ears! He cried so hard he threw up. He's a weird kid."
