i think it’s sooooooo fun how kara is so physical and so of COURSE azure wasn’t even really there

#cha:kara #c:library #i didn't end up writing this but i was thinking something along the lines of 'azure has just put herself in a room #with a dangerous weapon' bc that's what kara IS! that sexy little 'threat in the roll of her shoulders' line i DID write #so of COURSE azure wasn't really putting herself in that situation. i knew it. KARA knew it.#and that's such a....like. kara was mostly coming out on top in that conversation! they carefully skirted around giving #any information about the party's goals or plans while managing to get azure to monologue #clean and deft refusal to rise to any taunts even though the way azure talks about dari makes kara FURIOUS #kara was 'winning' that encounter using one skill she's very good at (keeping calm) and one that's not as practiced (talking)!#but then azure confirms she's exactly as foolish and arrogant and dangerous as kara knew and. they had to TRY #just in CASE there really was a shot at doing some damage now #and she had to try with her body! because that's what she HAS! and it's just an illusion.#the whole time it was just an illusion and kara couldn't even CONFIRM that it was even tho she has a +11 investigation #and even tho she was looking for a trick! but that's magic!#kara is a perfect weapon but she's a perfect melee weapon and there's only so much u can do against 7th level spells!#so at the end of the day azure wins again!#but eventually it won't be an illusion >:)#i just think the physicality of kara contrasted against the ephemerality of magic is sooooooo fun....#i really LOVE kara i love to like. be a guy who is competent and experience and Knows exactly who they are and what their purpose is #makes her REALLY easy to pick back up after a long time away and also is just so FUN sometimes #i'm SO glad library is back.

huh if i had a nickel for every time i made a dnd character whose backstory included “they used to be really reckless and headstrong but then something traumatic and/or perspective-altering happened and now they’re much more cautious even though they still have those instincts” i’d fully have four nickels

4. Of the other members of the party, which of them would you have chosen to play if all the options were premade and laid out in front of you?

this is the BEST question. talking just race/class/basic pitch, if i had the whole library party in front of me i for sure would still be playing kara but with them off the table it would probably be Naomi? i don’t like playing multiclasses which eliminates a full half of the party, and i also don’t tend to like playing the more animal-type characters like tortle/aarakocra/tabaxi etc, although playing a divination wizard WOULD be tempting--I think the main reason i’m not a wizard in this game is that we were doing character building when sparrow had just died and also i knew isabella was going wizard and so didn’t want to double up (so,) but i’d never be able to play azure’s Whole Deal so that’s off the table too. but i LOVE to play high int and while i didn’t like artificer when i played it that was for a joke one-shot, i bet i could have a lot of fun with Naomi’s build and general Deal

5. What was the first time you really connected to this character, if ever? Why do you think this moment made the character special to you?

oh library’s big day :] specifically when azure was yelling at dari and everything was moving Very Fast so i didn’t have time to think, just react. kara being the one to immediately step up not quite in between them but definitely Right There and trying to very firmly descalate/redirect and then making the choice to take off after azure rather than staying to make sure Dari was okay...and then putting herself not only between azure and the party but also between azure and the door, me having to message my private channel like “logan i am trying really hard to work with you here and not pvp but also. i absolutely HAVE to attack her,”....yeah :D that whole scene and their convo with Cassandra afterward made kara Click for me :D the Knowing what’s right and what you’re here to protect and having absolutely no fear of doing so once it comes down to it, the subtly keeping an eye on azure all through the tower but when push comes to shove...shoving
