Lin would kill me if she heard me say this but I think they’re so cute together 🤭

I love them so much, maybe one day I'll actually write a short story or a whole book about them. One day. Probably. 🥹

So basically, Lin fell in love with Thara's intelligence, her competence, and her complete refusal to take Lin's nonsense lying down. Her name is Thara Colgan, she's part Irish, part Tamil and she's a corporate lawyer.

E definitely knows their story because not long after Lin and Thara officially got together, E's biological parents died and Lin had to take them in. Thara could have left. She didn't. She stayed and raised E with Lin and she is E's mom, full stop. Those two have a bond that is genuinely very special and very strong.

Lin and Thara didn't get married until seven years in, when E was around 7 or 8 because Thara really, really did not want to officially become a Han (you know the Han family by now so you probably understand).

Anyway. Love is beautiful but it doesn't fix everything and two years ago Thara had enough of everything. She packed her things and left to get her freedom and sense of self back after 20+ years of sacrifices. Lin has refused to sign the divorce papers though, so that's going great for everyone involved.

Thara isn't currently in Sordia and won't be a big presence in the story but she'll definitely come up in E's route. 🖤

About the cute thing…

Lin: "I will not even dignify that with a response."

She definitely approves more of a morally grey/evil Leech than a righteous one :D

Then she’ll interact with them since it’s the heir. As long as they look promising, Lin doesn’t really care that they look like Leech, only if the kid had some of MC’s annoying traits/tendencies but she’d definitely try to correct it 🙃

Thara has been ready to be a grandmother since before E was even considering it. She shows up with food, she remembers every single thing they tell her, she is THAT grandma and she loves every second of it.

So what made Thara finally give in and marry Lin in the first place? What can I say I'm nosy.

Also is seeing all of this go down going to be a lesson for E in what Not to do in a relationship with Leech? Or will they initially just take it as reason 6396381 why not to get with a human?

What made Thara finally say yes? Who knows! You'll see one day :)

Hmmm honestly both. Lin and Thara's relationship is one of the reasons E is convinced humans and bloodborns (at least in prestigious families) just don't work. But once they're in it with Leech, their moms become less of a cautionary tale and more of a... complicated reference point. What not to do, sure. But also what to fight for. No relationship is perfect and no two relationships are the same, so E will be taking notes on both ends of that.
