❝ Don't let me ― do this to myself?  No offense mate but pop punk lyrics are kind of a weird way to start a conversation.

          “Light ‘em up!”

  Is a little girl really encouraging him to ― set something on fire?   Because if that's the case well    he'd hate to see such a young face disappointed. 

                  ‘Faster.’

    ❝ The news was, for a change, unusually good. Only two people had died from methyl alcohol poisoning during the celebrations. ❞ 

        ❝I-I’m not important, a-am I?❞ She’ll just sigh, glancing down at her skeletal hands fumbling with one another, digits. She wholeheartedly believed her words, emeralds fixating onto his own slowly, waiting for his reply.

❝ Are you really going to broadcast your existential crisis at some dude you've only ever talked to once  and who clearly doesn't care? Take a second to think about the logic of that won't you. ❞

Sally goes to a window and draws back sheer black linen drapes to reveal the cumbersome forest beyond the house. Snow glides down in swirls and flurries caressing the branches of the firs. Things hadn’t been good for awhile and the solitude was aching. The silence was the worst part. It enveloped her like the way death envelops a widow. But she wasn’t a widow or was she? She wouldn’t know, she wouldn’t ever know. 

She looked down and saw footprints coming from the woods up to the house. She never got visitors. She ran down the stairs and pulled open the door letting the cold air churn around her. 

With all the atmosphere of the place she should probably expect to find someone like a stoic businessman in a crisp suit, unbothered by the cold and come to tell her of a death in the family or perhaps a wise old forest prophet with news of a dangerous storm on its way and a warning to get out while she still can but  no  instead what she finds is a relatively small teenager, teeth chattering like a jackhammer and rubbing vigorously at his arms to try to stay warm. 

I will be with you in like five minutes ( ? ), but if I don't get this finished I'm pretty sure Jerry is gonna straight up kill me.
