Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 55 vs Anime Episode 24
In the manga, Sol seems much more like a threat worthy of his S-class title. His kicks had a lot more impact than the ones in the anime-- well, yeah, censorship reasons. And he was trying to go for a full-body because he knew he couldn’t beat Sol otherwise. In the anime, what happened was Sol created a sculpture of Lisanna to taunt him.
I loved this scene, it had so much impact on the reveal of Lisanna’s death and all-- but using it as the motivation for Elfman to try a full-body beast takeover seems... how do you say... contradictory?
In the manga he did it because he had to be stronger and hit harder, and Lisanna was just one part of the equation he had to overcome to get there (and he gets there, by seeing Mira.)
But in the anime, he’s using your sister as a shield, so getting stronger here would just help you... hit your fake sister harder? With the exact same thing that killed her?
The meaning has changed a little, and I don’t think it’s for the better. He’s trying to go for it because he wants to overcome that death, but I don’t quite see how he had to go from 1 to 100 over this. The problem here isn’t that he’s not physically strong enough, it’s that he can’t even get a chance to hit Sol when he’s using this underhanded tactic. Elfman should be finding a way to hit Sol first before going beast mode, because even if he manages to get to beast mode, the fact that he’ll have to hit through those Lisanna fakes won’t change.
Of course, Sol later just dispels it and he never uses them as a shield after this, so this ends up just being a tactical failure on his part.
I have NEW pins on my Etsy! Of course I had to do Chapter 55 😏🌌
Is this the frame from the 4Kids dub that they edited to have a lollipop?
