Because We Are Sinners

Perhaps it didn’t occur to Sheba before, but she isn’t the only one to bear the great sin of the towers.

Each member of Solomon’s party had once served the Gunuds as magical hosts to enchain the mind of the creatures. And from their presence alone she can see that they were most likely the 7 strongest to have escaped; particularly Solomon.

Not only do his backflashes hint that he had prevailed over the teachings of his sentinels at an early age, (evidently close to Sheba’s age; hee hee, like a mini Judal~ XD), but he was clearly born into an elite status since Arba keeps referring to him as ‘Young Master.’

Despite the fact he’d reprimanded her in the desert for her thoughtless words, he most likely felt sorry for Sheba at the same time.

There’s not one person among them who shares in her remorse, and had at one point felt unworthy to have lived when they’d come to the realization of how vile their hollow tasks were.

But Solomon and his group also came to the understanding that it wouldn’t have been just to have let them die in the towers when they knew absolutely nothing; and that they could redeem themselves by using their powers to save all the creatures from the control of the Gunud.

Facing Your Demons

No sooner had they left the village, Sheba is given another wakeup call from the reality of the world they live in; only this time it’s a bit of a heavier dosage.

It’s a brutal and cruel sight to behold as their benevolent Manticore host are forced by the Orthodox (Who apparently have access to Star Trek-style stealth jets

(꒪ ꒪|||); ) to act as mindless drones as they did with the Gunuds.

And to Sheba’s utter horror, a familiar face is among the powerless victims.

Gear Destruction

I'd made a theory earlier about Shirogane before, but after this chapter I feel that much of it has been debunked.

I'd thought that the supervisor was attempting to corrupt the GoMs, but it was in fact the opposite. He was trying to help them.

Much like the few people who knew such as Nijimura, Shirogane could sense the increasing strength of the new Teikou players, and that it wasn't necessarily a completely good thing.

He was probably planning on a means of keeping it from getting out of hand, but unfortunately his condition (whatever it may be) had finally caught up with him. [which definitely makes me feel bad for suspecting him.]

Now with the loss of both Nijimura Shuuzou AND Shirogane Kozo, the teams two pillars of reason, the dissolve of Teikou's strongest team is inevitable.
