ย ย The King, the glorious Arthur Pendragon, had issued out the Knights to patrol the surrounding land. Citizens of the kingdom were reporting invaders in the midst of them, each report unreliable and every description given inconsistent with others. One would think some sort of delusional plague had befallen the populace.
ย ย The Knights were encountering the standard beasts, nothing out of the norm. When a citizenโs farm was damaged, it was due to anotherโs cow having escaped the ownerโs own farm, devouring the formerโs crops with gluttony. When grunting was heard in the outskirts, it was a wandering bear that had left the forest. No Knight was reporting the likes of dragons, griffins, or other miraculous creature in their investigations.
ย ย However, elsewhere, the sound of scraping metal echoed in the night as sparks flew into the air. The booming roar of a dragon pierced through the knightโs ears as the blade was swung twice more, deflected with claws the size of their head. As a blaze of fire blew into the knightโs direction, they effortlessly leaped out of range of the blast despite the size of the armor covering their whole body. The dragon stomped onto the ground, quaking the earth. Nearby trees creaked from the force, threatening to topple over and split from their roots.
ย ย The lone knight was drenched in sweat underneath the armor. The weather was humid lately, and the dragonโs fire was exponentially raising their body temperature. This fight has been dragging on for hours now. Nonetheless, there was no delay in the knightโs attacks or dodges. This was nothing!
ย ย The knightโs voice, clear and unhindered despite the helmet over their head, called out,ย โ You shall not best me, dragon! I have defeated countless beasts stronger than you! In the name of His Majesty, Arthur Pendragon, you shall fall at the hands of none other than Sir Mordred today!ย โ
