the baratheon princess, the lone girl born to cersei & robert ━ at least, that is the tale everyone is told. a careful eye is always kept on the girl, yet she still manages to wander ; the hope of finding even a single flower sprouting between blades of dew kissed grass having won her over. dainty fingers run along the castle’s stone walls, completely unaware of the boy being pushed from the sill where he clung until she hears the thud of his body against the soil beneath and sees his direwolf pup let out a wail. the combination brings tears to her eyes, and she feels as though it has left her unable to set foot in any direction. salted droplets fall from her eyes and many minutes pass until she summons enough courage to run to his side. her gentle, benevolent heart is placed on display without shame as she rests a hand on his shoulder in a feeble attempt to wake him. footsteps of those more qualified begin to swarm a beat later, and an unintentional shove sends the heels of her soft hands into the earth beneath. scrambling to her feet, legs carry her in the opposite direction .... running, running, running. but it’s as though she knew, her beautiful queen of a mother knew, for she appears in front of myrcella’s frightened, trembling frame like a dream. “ mother! the stark boy has fallen ━ i found him lying upon the ground! he wasn’t moving and i ━ he must’ve been climbing the castle walls ━ ! ” panicking eyes drift to the part of her gown that has been blemished by dirt after she’d knelt down next to the injured boy, her shaking hands immediately attempting to brush it away. “ i tried to wake him, mother, i did! please believe me ━ ! ” spindly arms wrap around her mother’s waist, all lessons of proper etiquette and composure for a princess long forgotten as face hides itself from the cold in the fabric of her mother’s dress.
