14. firm kiss
“james, i said i didn’t want to pl—!!”
but then, james was kissing him, & he couldn’t quite help but kiss back. it lasted only a few moments, but it was long enough for peter to get a feel for james’ lips, & to taste the whiskey on his breath, ( & to think about how unlikely it was to ever happen again ).
now, he stared back at the group, all circled round that damned little bottle, & he looked to james, who held that ever-cocky grin on his face. peter’s eyes then flit to sirius, who was busy high-fiving his mate because, ' wow, you actually did it, mate! you kissed a bloke! ‘.
“you know what, i’m feeling a bit ill… i’m heading to bed. ‘night.”
there was a chorus disappointed noises from the rest of his drunk peers, but peter just shrugged, shook his head, & went off to bed. hopefully he’d be the only one sober enough to remember it all tomorrow.
