Because Music has a certain propensity towards a certain electronic scene you do ask yourself what do they about the latter’s succession of progenitors? A great case for that might, huh, Cerrone, for instance, because had a resurgence in the previous decade thanks to him being acknowledged for the influence his work in the 70’s made for many popular French electronica musicians. Thus, his comeback platters – let’s be honest that each of them now is like that – felt like oh-I-did-this-remember. For instance, the title track of Red Lips you can click on the link resembles his best work without achieving the latter. Then again, everything Cerrone does now services his reputation, so no harm here is, he’s actually having the best possible retirement …
MOMENTO RETRO: CERRONE - Supernature (1977)
CERRONE baterista, cantante, creador, productor y DJ francés, está considerado como uno de los productores más influyentes en Europa durante las décadas de 1970 y 1980. Con "Supernature" (1977) su tercer trabajo (también conocido como Cerrone III), Cerrone unió orquestaciones sinfónicas con sintetizadores y secuenciadores. En 1978, ganó 6 Premios Billboard (entre ellos, el de Artista Disco del Año). En su carrera, Cerrone ha grabado y actuado con muchos músicos destacados, como Nile Rodgers, Toto, Laura Branigan, Jocelyn Brown, La Toya Jackson y Axelle Red. Su música ha sido sampleada por artistas como Modjo, Bob Sinclar, Beastie Boys y Run-D.M.C. Este tema fue reversionado más tarde por la banda británica Erasure haciendo una gran versión del mismo. "Supernature" es uno de los temas más conocidos de Cerrone. Fue remezclado también en 1996 por Danny Tenaglia con su tradicional sonido progresivo y profundo Twilo. El tema insignia y primer simple, "Supernature", se convirtió en un éxito de las pistas de baile de todo el mundo. Su letra, escrita por Lene Lovich, versa sobre la ciencia ficción: hace referencia a la rebelión de criaturas mutantes, creadas por científicos para acabar con el hambre contra los humanos. Fué grababa en Trident Studios, Londres, por Malligator Records.
