These are my drawings of my OC Nova Foxstar and her weapon, the Firefox.

Around the time I came up with the concept of Nova’s character I was reading up on the legends of the kitsune, a magical fox said to possess up to nine tails, be magically adept and capable of taking the form of a beautiful woman. It was also around this time that I decided to have a canine-like species as a balance to the vampires. At first I was going to call them werewolves, but then I thought that sounded unfitting for the species. So in the end I decided to call them Cerberions (the word coming from Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of Hades and Tretista Kelverian, one of the Eight Gentle Judges from Mega Man Zero 3, whose name can also be translated as Tretista Kerberion), the half-human half-cerberion hybrids lycans and those affected with lycanthropy werewolves.

Design-wise, I wanted Nova to look classy and cool, so I added several traits that I thought would fit her, such as the odango rings for her hair. I also thought flame designs all over her clothes would make them pop-out, so to speak. For her non-human features I decided to give her fox ears and a fox tail because I was inspired by the kitsune. In addition, to spice up the outfit, for the third drawing of the character I decided to add a mask-like fox face on the shirt.

Nova herself is the second one, being born from a cerberion mother and a human father. Initially I was going to have their races be switched around but then I thought it’d be more interesting if Nova’s mother wasn’t human but her father was. Some of her backstory has been changed since I initially wrote it. She would also have a little sister named Mozilla.

Some of Nova’s backstory that I have planned so far is that she and her sister were raised by their grandparents on their mother’s side after the death of their biological parents. In order to help support her grandparents as well as control her unwilling transformations due to her cerberion heritage, Nova joined her country’s peacekeeping force at the age of 9. Eventually five years later, at the age of 15, Nova was added to the newly-created international peacekeeping force of World Storyia in order to help dismantle the League of Nations created by Aurum Stadion, becoming close friends with fellow member Albus Neptune.

For her weapon, I decided that dual dao swords would be most fitting for her, and I’m sure many of you are smart enough to connect why they’d be a perfect match for her. And yes, the swords split in two for dual-wielding or can be used as one.

Now let’s talk about some of Nova’s abilities. Nova’s main element is that of fire. She is capable using her element to enhance her blades’ cutting prowess. In addition, she is skilled enough to use her fire as a means of healing through the technique Warm Glow. Because of her cerberion heritage, Nova is capable of transforming under any of the planet’s four moons. However, since she is young and inexperienced, whenever she transforms (which she has no control of, also due to her inexperience and youth), her mind becomes feral and she is incapable of distinguishing between friend and foe. However, it is possible for her to, with enough training and knowledge, control herself during her transformations and also control when they happen. In her transformed state, her physical reflexes are enhanced, such as her speed, strength and stamina as well as magic capability.

Personality-wise, Nova is calm, collected, friendly, quick-witted and ambitious. She herself is one who strives for order, often to the detriment of others. She can also be rather sly and disingenuous.
