Sergio Toppi “L’uomo del Mexico”

In french language. Takes place in 1914 during the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920) and featuring all the well-known protagonists: Huerta, Zapata, Villa, Carranza, Obregon. 

All the titles of the collection “Un uomo, un’avventura" are worth reading. It’s a collection of great cultural value and a real milestone of italian comics.

Sergio Bonelli said:

“Tutta la collana è stata realizzata per compiacere me, le mie tematiche preferite, come le guerre coloniali e i gangsters negli anni ’30… “Un uomo un’avventura” è nata per puro divertimento e per lavorare con quei disegnatori con cui non potevo lavorare al tempo perché lavoravano per il mercato inglese… Ma tramite l’agenzia di Roy D’Ami, riuscii ad avere molti di questi meravigliosi artisti che si prestarono volentieri a questo piccolo gioco. “

To resume: Bonelli created this collection for his own pleasure, a serie featuring topics he liked to read about (colonial wars, gangsters in the 30′s....). Also it gave him the opportunity to work with artists he couldn’t work with before  because they were employed by foreign publishers. And here, he could have: Pratt, Toppi,  d’Antonio, Tacconi, Polese, Buzzeli, Crepax, Battalia, Micheluzzi, Manara ...
