Tanzania: CEOs Meet for Annual Gala Dinner On Friday

MORE than 200 guests including government officials, ambassadors and leading private sector officials in various areas are expected to attend the CEO roundtable annual gala dinner in Dar es Salaam on Friday.
According to The CEOrt Executive Director, Ms Santina Benson, the annual gala dinner is not only the night of celebrations but also to look back, take stock of what they have done, to celebrate the achievements and successes that have been made during the course of what will surely go down in history as a memorable year.
"The event is particularly special because we will be recognizing some outstanding citizens of our country for their exemplary leadership in fostering closer cooperation between the public and private sectors" Ms Santina told the 'Daily News'.
The CEO Round Table (CEOrt) is a policy dialogue forum that brings together CEOs from over 80 top companies doing business in Tanzania which account for more than 40 per cent of the tax revenue collected by the government. The CEO Roundtable was established in 2000, with the objective to create a forum through which captains of industry could constructively engage the government and other stakeholders in creating a more conducive environment for businesses to prosper and contribute to economic growth for the country.
Since then, the CEOrt has grown to become one of the leading and most respected business organizations in Tanzania.
