Jin
Seokjin had a firm belief that he understood his wife, especially since the two of you have been married for ten years. The two of you had two beautiful children, and despite some of the hardships the family has had to face, to the ignorance of the children and to the struggle to both you and himself, the Kim family has only come out stronger.
And yet at the current moment, Seokjin couldn’t help but collapse into his seat, his hand slightly trembling as he stared at the piece of paper with its very obvious label that explained the content of the document. He glanced up and looked at you, your own figure sitting in the chair opposite him with your back straight and face composed, your eyes looking at him expectantly.
“Y/N...what is this?” He asked, lowering the paper as he looked at you, swallowing thickly as he tried to make sense of the situation.
“Isn’t it obvious? It’s divorce papers.” You said blankly, not even an eyebrow twitching as you answered him as if he had asked what the weather outside was.
You sounded so emotionless, looked so emotionless, and he didn’t understand why.
“I...I can see that but...but why?”
The two of you had been together since university, Seokjin proposing the same evening he opened his own company, and the two of you have been happy ever since. He could not understand why you were suddenly handing him divorce papers, it was completely out of the blue as he had no idea that you even had the thought in mind. You shrugged.
“I need a change.”
“...What?”
He was at a loss, he just stared at you while you continued with your emotionless mask, staring at him as if he was a blank spot on the wall which you had happened to be locked on. A change? What did you mean that you needed a change? He voiced the question, and you only answered him with a sigh, the first sign of any type of emotion or reaction regarding this news.
“I’m tired.” You confessed, gazing down at your wedding ring that at three identical diamonds beside each other. Seokjin furrowed his eyebrows at you.
“What do mean by tired?” He asked careful, unable to get a read on you, something which he never thought would ever be possible because he knew you the best out of everyone.
“Of this. Of this life, this house, this...story. I want to close this chapter, I want a change.“
“Y/N...” Seokjin started, staring at you while he felt his throat thicken second by second, his hands rubbing his knees as he continued to stare at you. “I don’t understand.”
You sighed, shaking your head before looking at him with an almost tired look, it startling him as you almost seemed to age a few years in a single instant.
“I don’t expect you to, nor do you have to.” You stood up from your seat, which prompted Seokjin to immediately follow suit as he shot up to his feet, his body awkwardly standing as he did not know if he should reach for you or not. You nodded towards the paper which had fluttered to the floor from Seokjin’s sudden standing. “Read through that and contact my lawyer if you want to make any changes. Let’s just make this as painless as possible please. Goodbye.”
You had turned to leave, and that prompted Seokjin to fumble towards you and grab you by the wrist, turning to back to look at him as he flashed you a helpless look, confusion and hurt swirling within his chest and reflecting on his face as he tightened his grip on you.
“Y/N, this has come out of nowhere, can we please just talk about this and-”
“There is nothing to talk about.” You snapped, your words like bullets and piercing him through the chest as you ripped your wrist out of his grip, flashing him an icy glare which startled him even more because it has never been directed so scathingly at him before. “I’ve made up my mind. Don’t bother trying to change it.”
Seokjin couldn’t answer, or rather, he was not given the chance to because you whirled around and stormed out of the room, leaving him with the broken pieces of his heart as he all but dropped to his knees, staring down at the ground almost as if he was praying for an answer for all of this madness would appear before him and tell him why you were acting like this.
The two of you knew each other like the back of your hands, you always seemingly knowing what is going through his mind and Seokjin always seemingly knowing what was going through your mind. But now for the first time ever, Seokjin had no idea what you were thinking. It was like he was staring at a blank wall, protected from any type of staring because of its concealment.
It was like he was talking to stranger, or rather, you were treating him like a stranger. And that is what was hurting him the most. He has apparently lost his wife without even knowing it.
Suga
Yoongi had always been the lone-wolf type of man, preferring the company of himself than of others, but it was something you had learned to accept when you became involved with him. You knew what type of man he was when you married him, and he thought you had understood what was to come from a marriage with him.
He was a known workaholic, something which you figured out very early in the relationship, but it was something that you had taken into stride because his working habits is what paid for the big house that you and him lived in with your son. You were content to spend time at home to care for Jinyoung, inviting friends over to keep your company while Yoongi worked. He did join you and your friends at the odd occasion, but usually he remained in his office to finish up some work, only being prompted out to see your friends off with you.
It was not that he didn’t love you, because he did. You were his wife, and he provided you just like a husband should, but it seemed he grew very stagnant in his marriage with you, something he did not realize until his assistant had delivered some papers to his desk just before their shifted ended in the early hours of the evening. The manila folder was not labelled, so the only way he would find out about its contents was by opening it, and it was when he saw the title of the first document did he realize what they were.
Divorce papers.
For the first time ever, Yoongi left at the same time as everyone else. He had even pushed past his assistant when he hurried into the elevator, not bothering to even hold it open for his assistant as he was trying to figure out the quickest route back home. His hands were clutching at the folder, carrying it with him and tossing it into the passenger seat of his car before starting it up and speeding out of the parking out like a demon out from hell.
He probably broke about a dozen traffic laws on his way home but he didn’t care, the only thing that he had on his mind was his wife and his son. He hoped that the two of you were still home, if you weren’t...he didn’t know what he would do.
He didn’t even bother to switch off the car when he sped into his driveway, grabbing the folder and vaulting out of his car before rushing into his house, not expecting to find you seated at the dining room table with Jinyoung in his eating chair, busy being fed his dinner. You turned your head and looked almost surprised at Yoongi’s presence in the doorway.
“Oh, you’re home.” You said, your eyes falling to the folder in his hands. The surprise on your face smoothed out and was replaced with a neutral expression before you looked back at Yoongi. “Was there something you wanted to discuss.”
“Y/N, what the fuck.”
Yoongi couldn’t help it, the words just tumbled out of his mouth before he even realised what he was saying. You immediately shot him a glare and glanced at Jinyoung, hoping that the toddler would not have the urge to repeat what his father had just said. But thankfully, he continued to chew on the food you were feeding him, much to your relief. You looked back at Yoongi.
“If you are going to speak like that in front of your son, then you can walk back out the front door.”
“If I speak- Y/N, what the...why did this arrive at my office?” Yoongi demanded, holding the folder up to you. You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Have you not read it yet that you don’t know what it is?”
“Don’t get smart with me Y/N, I don’t have the time for-”
“Ah yes, time. Time is everything, for both me and you, and yet we seem to have different ideas of it altogether.” You laughed, it sounding the most empty he has ever heard as you shook your head and fed another spoonful to Jinyoung before looking at Yoongi. You nodded your head towards the kitchen. “Go pour yourself a drink. We can talk once Jinyoung has finished his dinner.”
“Y/N-”
“Go pour yourself a drink. You might need it.”
You turned back to face Jinyoung, flashing your son a smile before pretending that the spoon was an airplane and flew it into his mouth, making your son gurgle a laugh as he ate, ignoring Yoongi entirely as he stared at you in complete shock.
Even though he was not showing it, Yoongi was a floundering mess, and yet you seemed so...at ease with the whole situation. You were feeding Jinyoung like you usually did, going about your routine like usual, and yet you had dropped a massive bomb on Yoongi that you want a divorce. You weren’t even looking at him, treating him as if he was a piece of furniture in the room.
Just what the fuck has happened to you?
It didn’t seem that you were going to answer him any time soon, or rather, only once his son has finished his dinner. So deciding to follow your advice, he turned and headed towards the kitchen with the intent to drink some whiskey from the biggest glass that he owned. He definitely was going to need it.
J-Hope
His friends and family had always told him that he was too kind for his own good, and at first he used to brush off their words like they meant nothing because they didn’t for a time as he never thought that someone could be too kind for their own good, but he has now realised just how true their words were. The were practically spitting a fact straight to his face because he was now suffering from his apparent excessive kindness to the others and in came in the form of you, his wife.
The two of you had a marriage that was equal and happy. The two of you had your own respective jobs, a company of his and your own, and the two of you were happy with one another. The two of you were even the parents of a beautiful daughter, Areum being the light of Hoseok’s life aside from you. He thought that nothing could come between the two of you or the family, as to the perspective of others, his family was picture perfect.
Only it wasn’t.
As a businessman himself, Hoseok understood the stress that came with it and the need of long-hours of work to ensure a smooth running company, so when you began to stay longer hours at your company, he did not think much of it. He ensured to make sure that there was a meal waiting for you at home, and that he was available to help you in any way that he could, despite being busy with his own company.
But as time went on, hours became longer and Hoseok found that you were spending time more at your company rather at home with him and Areum, but Hoseok tried not to think too much into it because you always apologized when you did eventually arrive home and tried to make up for it as best as you could, something which he accepted because sometimes it can’t be helped with how work surrounds successful business people like you and him.
But what can be helped is celebrating your daughters tenth birthday as a family, something which you had forgotten, which infuriated Hoseok because no matter how busy the two of you had gotten with your companies, Areum always came first no matter what.
So after consoling his crying daughter and celebrating with her as best as he could before eventually putting her to bed, Hoseok had hopped into his own car and drove to your company building, intent to give you a piece of his mind for forgetting Areum’s birthday dinner. The building was relatively empty and dark, but Hoseok still stormed his way in it and headed towards your office, rehearsing the speech he was going to give you in his head as he eventually reached your office level and marched through it until he was eventually ripping open the door to your office, your name already leaving his lips before he even realised the position that you were in.
Which was on the table.
Bent over.
Naked
With a equally naked man behind you.
...
It seemed that his giving of the benefit of the doubt had bitten him the ass, especially since he discovered the real reason why you were staying at your company for long, as well as the reason of why you didn’t come celebrate Areum’s birthday at home with him and Areum.
Hoseok couldn’t stomach seeing you for two weeks, deciding to take some time away from the company and home by staying with his parents, taking Areum with him because he didn’t even want to leave her in close proximity with you or your boy toy, if he happened to come to the house with Hoseok’s absence.
While his parents were happy to spend time with their granddaughter, he knew that they were worried about him. For the first week, he didn’t tell them anything. How could he? How could he exactly say that his wife was having an affair? That you were cheating on him, just how could he confess that to his parents that card for you like you were their own daughter?
He couldn’t, but eventually...he could not keep it to himself. So he told them, and to say that their reactions were to be expected is an understatement.
His mother was heartbroken, shocked that you would even do a thing since there nothing seemingly wrong with your marriage with Hoseok. Hoseok had been thinking for the past week on what he could have possibly done to push you into the arms of another man, but he simply could not think of anything. He was a good man, a good husband to you, and yet you sought for love and pleasure with someone else.
Why? The question just burnt itself into his brain and heart, and there was nothing he could do to ease the pain.
And then his father suggested for him to go talk to you. He could not hide out at their home forever, and Areum needed you, she need her mother, and he had no right to deprive her of you or you of her. So after another week, he decided to return home with Areum with hopes to talk with you, to try figure out the whole mess which has exploded in the family.
Only you were not home to greet them, instead a document was waiting on the kitchen bar with a a little sticky note attached to the first page of the document, your cursive handwriting easily recognizable to him.
I’m sorry.
And underneath it was the divorce papers with your signature already on them. And when he eventually searched through the house, he found all of your clothes gone from the wardrobe, along with all your other belongings in the bedroom and the bathroom, leaving behind only Hoseok’s belonging, as well as Areum’s while your daughter in question kept asking Hoseok where you were.
He didn’t know, and at that very moment, he didn’t care.
Because he just lost his wife at the same time his daughter had lost her mother.

No marriage was perfect and Namjoon understood that, especially since he was hardly a perfect man, nor were you a perfect woman. Like all couples, the two of you did fight, but both of you came back stronger, as expected since the two of you were in love with each other. Each time the two of you would fight, Namjoon held onto the belief that it made the two of you stronger, and it ringed true most of the time because the two of you would make a comeback and forgive each other graciously.
Namjoon liked to be perceived as perfect since he has worked hard to get to where he is today. The tales of his successes were quite well-known, as he was once nothing but a poor man who did have a single dime to his name, and yet he worked hard to try improve his life, and he did when he managed ti build his own company from the bottom up, firmly establishing himself in the business world and being the living proof that hard work can get you anywhere.
Namjoon has never forgotten the pathetic and helpless feelings that he had during the time he had no money and was practically homeless, so to say he became somewhat of a workaholic would be an understatement. While he was very successful, he didn’t ever want to go back to how things used to be for him, which is one of the core motivators for him to continue working, even though he had a family waiting at home for him.
Even though he was a very punctual person by nature, at times he would become so heavily focused on his work that he loses track of time, and that is what he did on the day when his son was graduating from high school. When Namjoon eventually saw the time, he cursed loudly before scurrying out of his office and driving home, the graduation ceremony being long finished. When he eventually arrived home, he was met with the sight of you and Jinyoung eating some ice-cream together, sharing a smile with each other before turning to look at Namjoon as he entered the room.
“Hello,” he said, inwardly wincing at how awkward he sounded, shrugging off his jacket while walking towards the two of you, his eyes on his son who looked at him with an empty stare. “Jinyoung, I am so sorry I wasn’t-”
“Forget it. It’s not like I expected you to be there.” Jinyoung hissed, uncaring on how disrespectful he was being to his father before she stood up from his seat and stormed away, leaving Namjoon and you behind in the dining room.
Namjoon felt his throat tighten. Even though Jinyoung knows better than to speak to him so disrespectfully, he could not be angry at him because it was well deserved. He had the right to be angry at Namjoon, and the fact he didn’t expect Namjoon to be at his graduation hurt him. He turned to look at you, guilt written all over his face.
“Y/N, I didn’t mean to-”
“But you did.” You cut him off, shooting him a scathing glare that could melt metal before you gathered up the half finished bowls of ice-cream and carried them to the kitchen, Namjoon quickly following after you.
“I am really sorry, I didn’t realize-”
“I am not the one you should be apologizing to Namjoon, Jinyoung is the one who was hurt the most out of this.”
“I know, I-”
“No you don’t know. He really wanted you to come, and yet you didn’t, and the worst thing is that he knew that you wouldn’t come even though you promised. You promised!”
You slammed the bowls into the sink, fortunately not breaking them but making such a ruckus that Namjoon flinched, your whole body tensed with anger as you spun on your heel so you could glare at him face-to-face. Namjoon sighed and rubbed at his temples, a headache coming on.
“I know and I’m sorry. I will make it up to him-”
“How can you make it up to him Namjoon? Can you turn back time and go to the once-in-a-lifetime high school graduation of our son? Are you going to organize with the high school to have a whole repeat of the event just so you can see it? Or do you think buying him the next expensive thing is going to make it up to him? Bribing your son seems to be the usual thing that you like to do, the same with me whenever you let me down!”
Namjoon scowled at your words, sending you with a glare of his own as he righted himself up, standing taller than you by a mile as he tried to assert and defend himself.
“I do not bribe my son or you. I am the sole provider of this family, so I-”
“Oh again with that bullshit!”
While Namjoon knew that you did have a bit of a temper on you, he did not expect himself to suddenly be ducking out of the way when you all but threw one of the bowls at him, screeching curses at him while the ceramics shattered against the kitchen wall and showered the floor in shards. Namjoon stared at you in shock.
“Y/N, just what do you think-”
“I am sick of you acting like you are better than me! That you are better than everyone else! In case you have forgotten, I gave up my job so that I could take care of our son, someone is supposed to be the number one priority both of our lives! Just because you are the only one working doesn’t mean you have a fucking backseat on being a parent! You should have been there for Jinyoung, but like fucking usual, you weren’t, all because of your fucking work.”
“Y/N, my company is-”
“-Always first. It is always fucking first and I am sick of it. Jinyoung and I are always second! I have put up with it for so long...just so that Jinyoung could have some kind of peace growing up, but after today, I just won’t pretend anymore!”
There was a shift in you, one which Namjoon did not like because it was as if he was talking to an angered stranger in his own home. The two of you have fought before, but never to this extent, and from the words you were saying, he actually began to grow scared of what you were implicating.
“What are you saying Y/N?” He couldn’t help but asked, trepidation clear in his voice as he stared at you. You responded with a heated glare before answering.
“Jinyoung and I are leaving, and I don’t care if you decide to toss all of your lawyers at us, I won’t allow our son or myself remain in a household that isn’t a family.”
“Y/N-”
“I want a fucking divorce. I don’t care if you don’t want it, I do and it is about damn time I do something for myself and for Jinyoung. We’re done.”
Jimin
He thought that he could fix things between the two of you, to get back to how things used to be before he messed everything up. While it is natural for people to make mistakes, some mistakes can truly mess up your life, and Jimin learnt that the hard way through the mistake who was blonde, young, and beautiful, and not his wife.
It was a drunken mistake, something that happened overseas on his trip and he needed to let off some steam, especially since he had gotten off a phone call from you which resulted in a fight because you were tired of his traveling and leaving you behind with the kids, five and four respectively. It is not like he didn’t feel guilty with leaving you behind with all of his traveling, but it was something that came with his job, and so he expected you to be more understanding of the situation, but you did not believe you had to adhere to those expectations, which frustrated him beyond belief.
So he went out drinking, and he happened to come across a woman who was obviously attracted to him, and in his drunken stupor, he decided to submit to his mutual attraction to the blonde stranger. But when he woke up the next morning in his hotel room with an arm wrapped around his waist, did he immediately realize his mistake. He messed up, badly, and the fact that you were at home with his son and daughter, faithfully waiting for his return, the guilt just built up even more.
He had to get home.
He kicked the girl out of his hotel room and immediately packed up his luggage before sending a message to his secretary to inform his overseas associates that he had to return home due to a family emergency. He could not remain in the foreign country and pretend that everything was alright, because it wasn’t, and he knew that he could not keep it from you. You did not deserve to be lied to.
When Jimin had arrived home, you were surprised at his sudden appearance, but it immediately turned into joy and you went to greet him, kissing him on the lips with a wide smile on your face as you pulled away. But you immediately noticed that something was wrong by Jimin’s expression, and when you had asked him what had happened, he told you the truth. The whole flight back home, he had been summing up the courage t tell you the truth, trying to prepare some sort of speech in his head to try explain why he did what he did. But no matter what excuses he came up with, none of them could defend him from his betrayal, so he did not bother to use them when he told you the truth.
You had left the house afterwards, not sparing him another look or word as you took your purse and car keys before leaving. Jimin didn’t bother trying to look for you, knowing that it will only do more damage than good in your and his relationship. So instead he tended to Jinyoung and Areum, his precious children who were ignorant to the happenings in the house, ignorant of the fact that their father had hurt their mother in the worst way possible.
When you eventually returned home, you did not utter a word to him until later that evening, after you kissed Jinyoung and Areum goodnight and joined Jimin in the bedroom where he was waiting for you. You had done our usual nightly routine before finally turning to look at him, a blank expression on your face which terrified him beyond belief.
“You broke my trust Jimin, badly, and I have half the mind to walk out of here with the kids and never see you again. But that wouldn’t be fair to them. I don’t forgive you for what you did, not by a long shot, and you can’t take back what you did, but we can try move forward. For the sake of this family, I will try forgive you, but it will take a lot of time before I can consider it.”
And he was not going to mess up his second chance that you were giving him.
For the next few months, Jimin was determined to win back your trust. He brought you flowers almost everyday, he took you and the children out for family outings and bonding, and he did everything that he could to make you happy. He wanted to remind you how happy you were with him, how being married to him was the best thing ever, because being married to you was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
It was almost like the two of you were dating again, with him trying his best to woo you into his arms with promises of a happy life with him, along with the idea gifts, flowers, and honey words that could make one’s heartstrings tug with their sincerity. Jimin thought that things were developing well between the two of you, as you seemed to slowly become comfortable with his presence again, things almost shifting back to how they used to be before the entire incident.
That was until he arrived home to see you sitting at the dining room table and a glass a wine, with a man dressed in a beige suit.
“Y/N...who is this?” Jimin asked, his eyes fixed on the man as he cautiously walked closer to the table, where the man stood up to greet him. He offered Jimin his hand.
“Mr Park, I am Mr Minho Choi, your wife had asked me to accompany her in this meeting.”
“Meeting? What do you mean meeting?” Jimin asked, ignoring the man’s hand to look at you but you were avoiding all eye contact with him.
You instead took a sip of your wine. Mr Choi cleared his throat, retracting his hand and instead turning to grab the paperwork on the table which Jimin only now noticed as Mr Choi shifted them together before turning to face Jimin again. He offered them to Jimin. “An unofficial meeting to discuss your oncoming divorce with your wife.”
Jimin’s blood froze, the air in his lungs trapped as he stared at Mr Choi in shock before slowly to turn back to you, you still not offering him a single look. Jimin glanced at the offered documents and could just make out the upside down words ‘Divorce Papers’ from his position.
“W-What?” He stammered, not fully believing that this was happening. The two of you were doing so well, he had been working so hard to make things work between the two of you again, he thought you were on your way of forgiving him.
“Mrs Park has employed me and my services to represent her in the divorce, while it appears that you have not been expecting this news and need to come to terms with it, I have drafted the conditions which Mrs Park believes she is entitled to. Please review them with your own lawyer before we continue with the proceedings.”
Was he that arrogant to believe that his mistake could be forgiven entirely by you?

A curse left Taehyung’s lips when he finally entered the world of the living again, his head pounding from the alcohol he consumed last night. Or morning. He didn’t really know what time of the day it was, not that it really mattered because he wasn’t ready to face reality it, or to accept it.
It seemed he didn’t even bother to make it to the bed to pass out in his drunken stupor, the floor seemed more than acceptable enough to house him and his body, although his neck and lower back said otherwise. He cursed again as he sat up, all the blood rushing to his head as he hunched over and clutched at his head, the headache only getting worse the longer he remained awake and sitting up. And then his stomach decided to flip.
Taehyung rushed to the bathroom, bumping into the wall twice before he finally reached the toilet and emptied his stomach contents into it, clutching onto the seat for dear life as he felt like death itself was hanging upon his head. He wallowed in misery at the toilet, groaning and cursing to himself as he continued to empty his stomach until there was a loud pounding at the door. Taehyung wiped his mouth with the back of his sleeve and glance in direction of the noise, coming from the front door of the hotel room he was crashing at.
“Taehyung you son of a bitch! Open up this instant!” Jimin’s voice called out to him, quite angrily if he might add, which hardly improved his mood as he rinsed his mouth out at the sink and then stumbled his way towards the door. When he opened it, he hardly was able to say a word when Jimin all but pushed himself past him and into the room, groaning and gagging at the sight and smell before turning to look at him. “You’re a fucking mess.”
“Well good morning to you too.” Taehyung grumbled, closing the door and then slumping against the wall, a wave of wooziness washing over him. Jimin scoffed and gave Taehyung a disbelieving look.
“Its 8 pm at night.” He said, making Taehyung raise his eyebrows in surprise.
“Oh...really?”
“Yes, and half of the fucking town is looking for you right now.” Jimin hissed, marching over until he was right in front of Taehyung and grabbed him roughly by the collar, his teeth bared angrily like a wild animal. “Do you have any idea how fucking worried we were?”
“Hmmm, not much. It’s like I’m dead or anything.” Taehyung said lamely, not realizing that his words would cause his childhood best friend to shove him hard against the door, making him bang his head and making it even more painful than before.
“You could have been! For fuck sake’s Taehyung, no one has seen you in in a week! Not at work, not at home, not at anyone’s place! We were worried, even Y/N was worried!”
At the mention of your name, Taehyung scoffed. He pushed Jimin away and stormed past him, stumbling back into the main area of the hotel room until he saw a half-drunken bottle on the desk table. He stumbled over and grabbed it, taking a generous sip. The taste of the alcohol made his stomach curl but he ignored it as he swallowed the burning liquid.
“As if she was worried about me. She doesn’t care about me.” he hissed, making Jimin sigh in frustration.
“Listen, I know you and her have been having problems, but that does not mean that she does not care about-”
“Hah! Having problems is an understatement! She doesn’t give a shit about me! Not anymore!” Taehyung exclaimed, taking another generous sip of his drink before taking a seat on the desk table, clutching at the edge of it before looking at Jimin with a fixed look, one that was neutral and blank that Jimin could not get a read on him. Moments of silence passed between them, Jimin eying Taehyung carefully until he finally spoke again, albeit a little softer than last time. “She wants a divorce.”
...
“What?” Jimin questioned, his eyebrow furrowed together as he gazed at Taehyung in stunned surprise. Taehyung glanced down at the bottle he was holding, swirling its contents before speaking again.
“She told me last week. She wants a divorce. Apparently she can’t handle being married to someone like me with a family like mine.” He said, giving out an empty laugh before he brought the bottle to his lips again. Jimin stepped carefully towards his best friend.
“What did you say to her after that?” He asked carefully, making Taehyung drop his head slightly as he recalled the words which he had said after you told him your sudden decision.
“...You don’t want to know.”
Silence took over in the room, neither men saying anything after Taehyung’s confession. Taehyung continued to sip from the bottle while Jimin tried to collect his thoughts, eventually sighing before he eventually took the bottle out of Taehyung’s hand.
“Come on, you need to shower.”
“Jimin-”
“You reek of alcohol and before we do anything else, you need to shower. We can...do something else afterwards, but we are not staying in here any longer.”
Taehyung wanted to argue, to act perpetually and remain in the hotel room like he has for the past week, but somehow the energy to fight just faded away as he allowed himself to be pushed towards the bathroom by Jimin, slum oping his head in defeat as he closed the bathroom door behind him.
Jungkook
He thought he had his life all planned out perfectly. He graduated top of his class, he got married to his beautiful girlfriend, and he was one of the youngest and most successful business men in the world, even making it in the article of ‘Most influential men under 30′ and he was proud of it. His life was perfect, just like he had planned and from an outside perspective, it seemed there was not a single flaw within himself, his wife, or his life in general.
But then he had to fuck it up.
Jungkook was aware that he attracted a lot of people, both male and female, but he always remained faithful to you, because you were his darling wife and his biggest support system. You were there for Jungkook through all the highs and lows in his career, and you accepted every single part of him, even his flaws which he tried hard to hide from others. So the possibility of him becoming involved with someone else was something which never, ever crossed his mind because there was no one who could even match you. You were perfect in his eyes and nobody could ever replace you or your spot in Jungkook’s heart.
But then it took another CEO with 7-inch heels and a lethal smirk to change his mind.
It was a mistake. He knew it was a mistake the second he allowed himself to be kissed by another woman, the two of them sitting closely together at his desk as they were discussing strategies for the collaboration his and her companies were working on. And yet he allowed it to happen, and even worse, he allowed it to go even further.
He didn’t know the exact reason why he continued with the affair, the guilt which he felt the entire time only becoming forgotten when he in between the legs of his mistress, pinning her wrists to the bed as he thrusted into her, covering her lips with his own to mask her moans and squeals each time he reentered her. But afterwards, his guilt always came slamming back into his body as he redressed himself and kissed her goodbye before returning home to you, under the guise that he was stuck in a meeting.
It went on for a while, and every time Jungkook considered telling you about his fair, he chickened out because he was terrified of the idea of you possibly leaving him for it. Though it would be well-deserved if you did leave him, because he has broken his wedding vows, to remain faithful to you and to always make you first priority in everything. But the longer his affair continued, the priorities in his life changed and you suddenly were no longer the number one in his life anymore.
And when you eventually learned the reason why you didn’t come first, Jungkook was there to relieve your anger and pain.
Jungkook arrived home late as usual, after spending the evening wining and dining with his lover, and he expected you to be asleep like you usually were, but instead the bedroom light was on and you were up reading a book, apparently waiting for him to return. You turned your head to face him as he walked into the bedroom.
“Welcome back.” You said, closing your book to give Jungkook your full attention. Jungkook flashed you a careful smile.
“Hey baby, why are you still up? It’s late.” You flashed him a smile, an empty one that did not reach your eyes like your smiles usually did when you were happy to see him.
“I know its late, which is why I was waiting for you to come home, so that we could talk.”
“Talk? Talk about what?” Jungkook asked, shrugging off his jacket and hanging it over the chair at your vanity table before going to unbutton his shirt. You flashed him another smile.
“About how long you planned to keep your affair going?”
Jungkook froze, his fingers hanging in the air with the top button of his shirt being undone. Ice replaced his blood and he looked at you with a shocked expression, your own face still fixed with a cool smile which was no help to Jungkook trying to calm his beating heart.
“My...what?” He asked pathetically, his heartbeat in his ears by now as he swallowed a thick stone in his throat, his breathing becoming uneasy as he continued to stare at you. You scoffed and rolled your eyes at him, shaking your head in disdain.
“Don’t act stupid Jungkook, did you really think I wouldn’t eventually figure it out? That you were seeing someone else and much preferred to spend your time with them than with me? Oh, but it isn’t just someone random, oh no, it just had to be with that bitch from the other company. I guess you can mix business and pleasure huh?”
You gave an empty laughing, shaking your head before you slipped out of bed, revealing to be wearing normal clothes instead of pajamas, heading over to the closet where you pulled out a roller bag, packed with clothes while you turned to fix him with an icy glare.
“Get out.” You hissed, pushing the bag in its wheels towards him, making him immediately stumble to catch it as it bumped into his legs. He continued to look at you with wide eyes.
“Y/N-”
“I don’t want to hear another word from you. The next time you talk to me, my lawyer will be present. I want a divorce.”
Divorce.
The word echoed in his head, and all of a sudden, his worst nightmare was coming true and he felt his eyes sting as tears formed and began to escape his eyes, his head shaking rapidly as he stumbled past the roller bag and towards you, reaching out to touch you.
“Y/N please, let me explain-”
“Don’t fucking touch me.” You hissed, dodging his attempts to grab you and moving across the room so that he couldn’t touch you, the intensity of your gaze only increasing the longer you looked at him. “There is nothing to explain. You slept with someone who wasn’t me, more than once, and I don’t want anything to do with you.”
“Baby, please...” He begged, stumbling towards you again, his body shaking while tears began to stream down his cheeks as he reached for you again, only this time you slapped his hands away with brute force, your teeth bared like a wild animal with its hackles raise.
“I’m not your baby anymore. Get out Jungkook, I’m sure you new baby will happily welcome you back into her arms, or her legs, your choice.”
But Jungkook didn’t want to go back to her, he just wanted to be with you. You were his wife, his number one, his everything. But it seemed he has been caught out and there was no chance of redemption. He fucked it up. He fucked everything up, and there was nothing he could do to fix it.

You knew that Kim Seokjin was rather narcissistic. You just didn’t know it would be that much.
To be frank, you mostly thought those were rumors — exaggerations, at the very least; mere products of envious minds that flew nearby. It was to be expected, after all: Seokjin was one of the most successful people in Seoul, most likely one of the richest, and was blessed enough to have the face of an angel, matched with the demeanor of a demon. The man seemed to have it all, so it was understandable how some envious individuals would see him as being full of himself, always parading his achievements around like a golden crown over his head.
You liked Seokjin — or Jin, as he would prefer to be called — since the first time you saw him, instantly pulled in by his charms. Months ago, you were called by his company to work on a legal action taken against them, regarding a consumer that got severely hurt after using one of their products. Jin had heard you were the best lawyer for the case and, of course, he wouldn’t take anything but the very best.
Even being a pro in your line of work — dealing with the most mischievous, money-hungry people you would think of — you were still taken off guard when it came to Seokjin. He was a monster when it came to using his words, got you stumbling over your thoughts a couple of times as your dialogue unraveled. He looked at you with extreme attention, as if you were the only person in the room; made you feel seen in a way you knew he used for his negotiations as well. When people think of the world of money and business, they think of shark-infested waters. And when they think of sharks, they think of Kim Seokjin.
The case was done eventually, slightly rushed by negotiations being made behind the scenes, which were led by your colleague, Hoseok. You never liked that part of the business as much — the dirty one, where they traded money for silence and settlements — and so you focused on the company itself, working with Seokjin and building up a good defense. In the end, the company fought a good fight and remained with a squeaky-clean reputation, and the victim walked away with a considerable amount of money. Everyone was happy.
Jin was happy. So happy, in fact, that he asked you on a date the second that your work relationship was done with.
You never found out if you were smart or dumb for saying yes.
It didn’t take long for you to understand that Jin didn’t play around when it came to what he wanted — how he wanted, when he wanted. After going through a very delicious, very expensive dinner at his ostentatious house, one thing lead to another and, when you came to, your dress was being teared open as you laid on his couch.
“I’ll buy you another one,” he mumbled before you even had a chance of complaining, his plump lips tracing a path of wet, messy kisses down your abdomen. “I’ll buy you whatever the fuck you want.”
And when his mouth was on you, sucking and licking your clit like he was starved man, you couldn’t give a single fuck about the piece of torn fabric on the corner of your vision. All you could think about was Seokjin — with his tongue lapping between your folds, his strong arms holding your thighs down, his voice vibrating through your slit every time he moaned against you. You were descending down to inferno and you didn’t even know.
It was dangerously easy to lose yourself in Jin: he was a siren luring you along, dragging you to the depths of his soul with every new date; every delicate dance of his lips on yours. He was enchanted by you, wanted to spend his free time by your side, which often oscillated between the most tender to the most intense of activities.
Which leads you back to the fact that you didn’t know that Seokjin was, after all, quite the narcissistic type. Just maybe not in the way some people would guess.
“Eyes open, baby,” his voice was velvety against your ear, lips sealed on your neck. Seokjin was starting to get breathless, but, even then, he sounded heavenly. “Don’t make me stop again.”
You could only give him a weak nod, biting on your lip in an attempt to ground yourself. With your hands flat on the thick glass window, you could barely follow the flickering of the lights of the city through the cloud of condensation on the surface. Night had approached rapidly, and now it was spreading all around you.
The movement of his hips were just like the rest of Jin: strong and precise. You had lost the notion of time by that point, mind utterly focused on the lewd sounds of his cock plunging inside your soaked heat. “Good girl,” he praised, one of his hands slithering up your stomach, towards your breast. You whimpered when he squeezed it, hearing as he chuckled. “So sensitive.”
Seokjin, as always, was getting a sick kick out of that situation. You, on the other hand, felt extremely exposed: the window of his office was just as enormous as the rest of the ambient, basically covering the entire wall from top to bottom. He had you completely naked, facing the towering buildings that stood all around his own, knowing very well that anyone could look outside and see him fucking you.
You couldn’t blame him, though: you had agreed to his proposition right away, somewhat poisoned by his own need for constant exposure. After months by his side, it was difficult not to get carried away by Seokjin’s tastes, especially when it brought along the praises that you loved so much.
“Look at you,” Seokjin spoke out, gasping as his cock rammed deep inside your pussy. You were wet, shamefully so, and the slide of his length in and out of you was intoxicating, permeating your mind with lust. “Such a beautiful sight. Bet anyone who sees you like this would want to be me right now.” He groaned, the hand that was on your breast moving towards your neck. “Fucking you so hard, so fast,” he continued. “Having you in any way that I want to — fuck — this pussy is all mine, isn’t it, baby?”
His fingers squeezed your throat just slightly, but not enough to actually interrupt any blood flow. He was just provoking you, relishing in the tightening of your walls around his cock at your growing expectation. “Yes, yes,” you stammered, battling against the cloud of desire that covered your thoughts. In law school, you had been unbeatable when it came to debates, always fast and clear-cut with your words, but, when it came to Jin, all of that brain power went down the drain. “Please, Jin, I’m so close.”
“Yeah?” He teased, pushing you closer to the window, pressing your breasts against the cold surface and making you shiver at the contact. You could see his reflection on the window through parted lids, a translucent ghost with a devilish smirk. His cock was ramming inside you faster now, almost daring you to do so. “Keep your eyes open and you can cum.”
That seemed to be an easy enough task, but you had failed it three times already, closing them every time you felt overwhelmed, or even ashamed of your current position — and that’s how you had reached that point: edged out of your mind because, every time your eyes fell shut in bliss, Jin would stop his movements. And there he would stay, fighting through your needy whines and holding your hips still, until your orgasm washed away and he started back almost from zero.
He seemed to enjoy that endlessly, considering that it only upped the amount of time he had you in front of that window, in full view of anyone who wanted to see it. Seokjin was still completely clothed — with only his pants reaching midway down his thighs — and the experience was just as humiliating as it was arousing. You knew that he wanted the entire world to catch a glimpse of you like that: the most cherished part of his perfect life, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, being fucked by only him. Because they can look, but can’t touch.
Still, Jin was affected by it — his breathing becoming less controlled, small moans and grunts breaking upon his plump lips. There was something in him (the narcissistic side, you guessed), that went insane over the realization that someone as amazing as you was only his; that you trusted him enough to allow him to have you in such a way. “I love that you’re mine, baby, all mine,” he was babbling at that point, letting his thoughts spill out of his mind and into the stiff, steamy air of his office. His tongue was on your neck in no time, lapping over the purple bruises he had left a few days prior — you were his, only his, and he liked to mark you as such. “So fucking perfect for my cock. Such a tight little pussy. Could fuck you forever — like this, just like this.”
You could only moan out in agreement, feeling as your legs started to give out under you. Jin had an iron grip on your body, though, using it as his support as he drilled his big cock in and out of you. That familiar numbness had started to grow within your core, making the sounds you were producing much louder, needier. Amongst your chaotic thoughts, you could only be thankful for the fact that his company building was already empty — courtesy of your after hours visits.
“Jin, fuck,” you cried out, using every ounce of strength inside you to keep your eyes open. You seriously didn’t think you’d be able to keep your sanity intact if he decided to stop right now, not when you were so dangerously dangling over the edge. “I’m so c-close.”
“Come for me,” his sentence was basically an order, a harsh command resounding inside your ear. You felt his cock throbbing inside you, his thrusts becoming a bit sloppier, and you knew that he was hanging by a thread as well. “Show me that you’re mine, baby, cream my cock for me.”
You agreed with a nod, mostly out of it, and waited for the tidal wave to crash. It came not much later, making your body spasm, cheek pressed against the gelid glass as Seokjin searched for his own high.
“So perfect, baby,” he breathed out, utterly overwhelmed. The way he stretched you out was sinful, his thick cock hitting every spot inside you that got you seeing stars. You were still gasping his name like a private prayer, a bit overtaken with sensitivity, when Seokjin finally spilled himself inside you, cursing out at the feeling. “Fuck, I love filling you up with my cum.”
And of course he did, because that was the cherry on top: the ultimate way to mark you as his.
Seokjin was a completely different person as he watched you get dressed — his typical cool, calm demeanor that left everyone else fumbling for the right way to avoid the silence. When you were finally done with your clothes, you turned around to see him fixing the sleeves of his suit, looking like nothing had ever happened.
“Where to?” You asked, taking a few steps closer to him. You knew him well enough to be sure that his plans for the night had barely begun.
Jin wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in. “My place,” he answered. “Looking at you through the window reminded me of that mirror I have close to my bed.”
“Yeah?” You raised one eyebrow. You were instantly enveloped by his warmth, succumbing into the darkness that expanded beyond his deep brown eyes. You were the only person he looked at like that — with such tender mixture of adoration and desire — and it left you feeling a bit full of yourself as well. “Want me to ride you while you look at it?”
He smirked, leaning in to place a small kiss against your lips. “You know me too well.”
THE FORBIDDEN LOVE TROPE | KIM SEOKJIN
“it should've been you”
PAIRING : kim seokjin x reader
GENRE : angst , forbidden love , arranged marriage
SUMMARY : you and jin both knew it was only a matter of time before your love would have to end OR the forbidden love trope
WORD COUNT : 1.5k
Mr. Kim glares down at you and his son with his stern eyes. You think you see a glimmer of fondness when he looks at Jin, but whatever sliver of affection he carried was long gone by the time he turned to face you. "Seokjin is your responsibility, it'll do you well to remember that."
How could you forget?
Those words danced around in your head every, single, day. But you had no objections. You felt a sort of obligation to Jin, like you owed him. But even if you didn't, that would. You were raised to simply obey orders, and to never disagree. Anything Jin needed; you were there for.
In the way that you were indisputably obedient, Jin was the same.
Jin didn't complain, Jin didn't talk back, and Jin didn't object.
At least not anymore.
All it took was a disagreement between him and his father for him to learn to keep quiet. He never told you any details about that night, but the yellow bruises that blossomed on his right cheek, and the sniffling noises you heard coming from him when he snuck into your bed when he thought you were deep in sleep were more than enough to give you an idea of what happened.
His mother was no better than her husband. Not wanting to risk damage to her perfectly manicured nails, Mrs. Kim never laid a finger on her son. Even though the matriarch never physically abused Jin, in no way was she a saint. Her proclivity to patronize with her snide remarks in a way where you would not even realize you've been insulted could be considered a talent. You've been around the woman long enough to know that her words had teeth.
You learned to take care of Jin early. When you and him were still incredibly young, Jin - full of eagerness and enthusiasm to test out the newfound playground, fell over and cut the delicate skin right below his knees. It didn't hurt him as much as he made it seem to be, but the red liquid rushing down and staining his favorite socks - the ones with the adorable cats on them, were enough to make him burst into tears.
Instead of taking him to the nurse, you jumped to action and grabbed a pack of band-aids out of the little compartment in your sparkly green backpack. Unfortunately, with this not being the first time you had to patch him up, you were a little low on supplies.
Your kindergarten teacher was stunned when she felt a tiny hand tap on her skirt and ask her for a bottle of rubbing alcohol and some cotton balls.
Anyone who wasn't in the tightly knit circle that included the Kims and yourself didn't understand the dynamic. You could see the stares; you had an idea of how people felt about your willingness to always go out your way for Jin, but it didn't matter. Not when they never dared to speak up about their opinions anyways. How could they when doing so meant disrespecting the Kim Dynasty? '
The room where you and Jin would be gathering with his parents resided on the top floor in the skyscraper appointed as the headquarters of the Kim Dynasty, located in the heart of Seoul. The top floor was strictly forbidden to all employees and no individual - besides the Kims and yourself, was allowed entry.
Usually, any and all meetings would be held in the designated room on the 18th floor - no way near the top. To meet here instead of the usual spot with all the other employees made it clear to you that this was more important.
That never meant well.
Upon the doors of the elevator opening wide, you are met with the image of Mr and Mrs. Kim sitting down at the marble table, centered in the middle of the overly spacious room where glass windows that acted like walls, stood high from the floor and touched the ceiling.
Mr. Kim's hands are folded on the table the same way it is when he is proposing an idea to an opposing company, and his wife's hands rest politely on her lap.
You and Jin take the seats across, and the patriarch clears his throat in a sense where he is demanding silence and the attention of the audience.
"As the both of you are aware, the Kim Dynasty is to be merged with Choi corporations; henceforth, creating the biggest empire South Korea will ever see. However, we seem to have a a bit of a setback. Mr. Choi expresses his reluctance about the merge as an entirety and fears that it will cause him more harm than good. He wants reassurance and we've decided it was in the best interests of the company to give him that. The merge will proceed as anticipated, with the additional of the business agreement established by both parties." Mr. Kim announces.
He turns his body towards his son and adds on his previous statement. "Seokjin. You are to be wed to Mr. Choi's only daughter."
While you were not unfamiliar to the Kims and their tendency to propose outrightly outrageous ideas, this was by far the most shocking.
"There is no refusing as it is already decided. This is what is best for the comp-" The sound of his son's voice cuts him off and prevents him from finishing his statement.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me."
A shocked gasp escapes Mrs. Kim's mouth. "Language!"
"The two of you have subjected me to so much bullshit over the years and I've never spoke up or refused. Never. I submitted to all of the bullshit and never asked any questions to please the two of you. You guys never gave a shit about how I felt, it was always the company this, the company that. Well, fuck that and fuck you." Finishing his declaration, Jin roughly gets out of his chair and storms out the room in a rage
You notice Mr. Kim's head turn in the same direction as Jin leaving the room. He snaps his neck around and his harsh gaze falls on you, as if telling you to immediately go and retrieve his son. You nod your head in silent understanding and excuse yourself out.
,
The elevator taking you to Jin's suite abruptly feels too small and suddenly you are aware of how uncomfortable you are with the clothes on your back.
Pure agony constricted your heart, and your vision grew cloudier each time you recalled of Mr. Kim's announcement. You curse the elevator for taking its time and the small ding noise each time it moved up a floor taunted you.
Immediately as you see the numbers jump up to 30 - indicating that you have reached the top floor, you rush to find Jin. Making your way in his suite, you throw your purse off to the side, not caring where it lands. You race into his bedroom and see him in an even worser state than you.
He is unaware of your presence and continues to pace back and forth around his room. The white dress shirt he is wearing is noticeably wrinkled and his hands harshly tug his disheveled, dark brown hair.
The glass lamp that previously sat on the nightstand beside the bed now lay cracked on the floor and the paintings that formerly hung high on the wall accompanied it.
Throwing your arms tightly around Jin results in him doing the same back. He holds onto you as if you are his air and is terrified that you will be gone if he lets go. His sobs mirroring yours causes his entire body to tremble and the crook of your neck where he buries his head is drenched with tears.
"God, I've always filtered how I've felt for them. Always fucking put my own feelings to the side, but I can't do it anymore. I just-" his voice breaks off and, in this moment, he looks like the same wounded little boy who would sneak into your bed at night after being severely reprimanded by his parents.
His eyes are bloodshot, and he struggles to get his remaining words out. " I can't do it anymore."
"I know Jin. I know." You reach up to cup his face and his lip quivers.
Your thumb swipes at his falling tears. In all your years of knowing him, this would be the first time where you have absolutely no idea what to do.
"How can they expect me to just-what am I supposed to do?"
Jin is, and has been, everything you have ever wanted but you both know that in this situation, you both are powerless. The choice is not up to you and no matter how great you long for him, in the end, he is not yours. You knew it from the start, you knew that loving Seokjin would ultimately bring you nothing but pain in the end. Nothing but pain, and bitterness as you reminisce over him and the what ifs.
Jin looks at you wistfully and your chest aches because you know that this is goodbye.
"It should have been you."
we are over 21k now of CEO Jin

Something Wicked
part 12
masterlist
Warning: major character death, yandere behavior, violence
Hello, my darlings. This is unfortunately the last chapter of SW except for perhaps an epilogue, but I’m still undecided on that. It’s been a ride. Thank you all so much for reading! Enjoy!--- chaotic puff
Much like everything else in her life, Jin chose her dress for the evening and embarrassingly enough, her undergarments as well. She had to admit though that the dress was flattering. Should she have expected anything less though? Nothing in the closet was particularly unflattering. Jin had picked everything so that she would match the image of the dazzling Kim Seokjin. She was long since unsurprised by any of it though. Weeks under Jin’s thumb had left her a shell of herself. She didn’t even have the dog to keep her company anymore. Jin had sent him out to a kennel in preparation for their honeymoon a week in advance. He wanted all of her focus to be on him and the wedding. The dog was deemed an unnecessary distraction. It was just another little thing that made her resent him on an ever growing list.
It was more was becoming more and more of a struggle just to keep herself together, but no one ever would have guessed from looking at her. That was what it meant to be a part of the Kim family, unending grace and poise, never a hair out of place. She had to assume that this was why the heads of the family had even gone along with Jin’s decision to marry her. Not only was he their golden son, but she was perfectly matched to their image of a daughter-in-law in all but family background. They could overlook her lack of background when she was suitable in all other categories and Jin, their most darling son, had chosen her.
She stared at herself in the mirror trying to reconcile the woman before her with the memory of who she had been before everything had happened. This woman was elegant, refined, empty, nothing more than a puppet on a string. The color of the dress made her ill. Red. Red dress. Red shoes. But it was not the bright red that was associated so commonly with weddings. No, this was a deep wine red closer to the color of the bruises so carefully hidden all across her body.
The bruises that marred her wrists were only highlighted by the color as was the hickey that Jin had so meticulously placed on her neck. The halter top of the dress did nothing to distract the eye from the offending mark, and neither did the earrings that Jin had provided her with. A thin string of diamonds fell from her ear ending at her jaw in a perfect pear shaped gem. He had even instructed her to wear her hair up. The simply pony tail she had chosen over a bun provided some cover, but it still left her neck and the mark there exposed for all to see.
Jin didn’t need to hide the marks on her body though. This was his family, and they wouldn’t question his actions. Why would they? Jin could do as he pleased. He could probably even get away with murder if he so chose. He already had if her suspicions about Minseok were correct.
The thought of her love made her heart ache. She couldn’t help the guilt that swept through her at the thought of him. If it hadn’t been for her, he would still have been alive. If she had never agreed to that first date, Jin would have had no reason to act against him. She could only hope that whatever Jin had done with him had been swift, though she doubted it. The Jin she had come to know was anything but merciful. He was many things, a narcissist being among them, but he was not merciful.
“Y/N?” He called walking into the closet where she was getting ready. “Darling?” he called again stopping with a smirk in the middle of the room as he took in the sight of her through the mirror. “You look lovely, darling. Absolutely beautiful.”
Her answer was robotic, ingrained. “Thank you, Jin.”
“Are you ready, darling? I don’t want to keep my parents waiting.”
“Yes, Jin.” She nodded turning to face him though keeping her eyes downcast in submission. He liked her submissive. It fed his ego. “I just need to grab a coat, and I’ll be ready.”
He hummed instructing her to stay where she was as he began to rifle through her side of the closet. Of course she wouldn’t be allowed to choose her own coat. How silly of her to ever think she had a choice.
He returned moments later with a black coat in hand carefully draping it over her helping her into the soft material before stepping back so she could fasten the garment around her. If there was one thing she was grateful for, it was that Jin’s fashion sense never drifted to the risqué in anything other than the array of lingerie he provided. Everything else was demure, fitting for the wife of such an important man. None of her dresses and skirts were shorter than the tops of her knees, and her necklines were always modest with only the barest hint of cleavage being revealed if any at all. Even the coat draped around her was demure. It fell down past her knees stopping at the tops of her shins. The collar was high providing coverage to her neck and half hiding the mark Jin had left there, and like everything else in her wardrobe, it was high quality.
“You look lovely in Dior, darling.” Jin murmured placing a kiss just under her jaw as she finished fastening the belt around her waist.
It was cinched more than it would have been before all of this. The stress of living under Jin’s tyranny had seen a drastic decline in her weight. She never stepped on a scale. She didn’t know where one was, but she wouldn’t have been surprised to find that she had lost twenty pounds or more over her weeks with Jin. Even her hair had suffered. Clumps of it would come out in the shower as it had in her college days during exam weeks or during times of extreme stress. She could barely recognize herself in the sharp angles and hollow eyes of the woman that stared back at her in the mirror.
“Shall we, darling?” Jin grinned offering her his arm, which she reluctantly took allowing him to lead her out of the penthouse for the first time since he had taken her.
One of the hardest pills to swallow was the look of surprise on Jin’s driver’s face when he saw her. She had known Suho for years. They had commiserated on more than one occasion on the harsh realities of working for a perfectionist like Jin, but he looked almost as though he had seen a ghost. Perhaps he had. She certainly felt like one.
“Mr. Kim.” Suho stuttered opening the door of the car for them his eyes still wide with shock.
Jin ushered her into the car first throwing Suho a harsh glare as he did. She was his to look at, not some lowly driver’s. Jin didn’t like other men staring at her, but Suho had been a loyal member of staff for years and quickly averted his gaze without another word as soon as he felt Jin’s glare upon him. He liked Y/N, but not enough to risk Jin’s wrath by attempting to speak with her or take any further notice of her.
The ride out to the family estate was silent. Jin fiddled with his phone while resting heavy hand on her thigh as they drove through the city. There was nothing for her to do but stare at the city as it went past. The path was a familiar one. She’d been to the family home before on multiple occasions. She had never suspected that it would be under these circumstances though. If someone had asked her a few months ago if she could see herself marrying Kim Seokjin, she would have laughed in their faces. She would have given anything to go back to those days, to go back to the day she had first entered Kim Seokjin’s life and turn and run for the hills. There was no use lingering on such thoughts though. This was her life, retched as it may be. She had to survive even if it meant submitting to someone as vile as Seokjin.
The house looked much like it always did, grand and imposing much like the people who inhabited it. She had never been fond of Jin’s parents. She’d always felt out of place in the large house. Seokjung was really the only member of the family that Y/N liked, but it wasn’t as if she knew him very well. That didn’t matter though. It wasn’t as if she got a say in who her in-laws were. She didn’t get a say in any of it.
When they exited the car, Mrs. Kim was standing there ready to greet them, well to greet Seokjin at least. She was an accessory on her son’s arm.
“Jinnie!” She cooed rushing forward to hug her son a smile stretched across her painted lips. “It’s been too long!”
“Eomma.” He greeted hugging her back. “This is Y/N.” He stepped back pushing her forward and bringing her to his mother’s attention.
“The assistant.” She mused staring down her nose at her. “She’s pretty at least.” She huffed taking her son by the arm and pulling him into the house with Y/N trailing behind. “Your father and I have been looking forward to seeing you. I can’t believe that my little boy is all grown up and getting married.” She sighed dramatically stopping in the foyer so that a maid could take both of their coats.
“Son.” Mr. Kim walked into the room greeting his younger son in the stoic way that he always did. “This must be Y/N.” He nodded looking her up and down critically. “You picked well. She’s beautiful.”
“She’ll give us beautiful grandchildren.” His wife agreed looping her arm through his. “Don’t you think so, dear?”
“There’ll be plenty of time for talk of that later.” He hummed leading his wife towards the parlor for drinks as he and Jin began to talk business. Y/N trailed along her head bowed and arm looped through Jin’s.
She couldn’t help but wonder where Seokjung was. Surely he would be at a family dinner. He was her only saving grace in this nightmare of a dinner. She knew full well that he was the only one that would talk to her like a person and not just the pretty bimbo that their son was marrying. Jin certainly wasn’t going to make this evening any less awkward or her, but so far he was nowhere to be seen.
“Will Seokjung be joining us?” She dared to ask drawing the attention of the entire family to her.
Both Jin and his father stared at her with disapproval, but Jin’s mother pasted on a condescending smile. “Aren’t you sweet?” She hated the sickly sweet tone of the woman’s voice. “I’m sure he’s somewhere, maybe in the kitchen. He does so love to bother the staff in there.” She chuckled the sound grating against Y/N’s ears. “If you’re worried, you could go check on him, but I’m sure he’d be much happier eating in the kitchen than with the rest of the family.”
Y/N had to bite her tongue to keep her temper in check. It had always bothered her how the family treated Seokjung after the accident. He was paralyzed, not a pariah. “I think I will.” She pasted on a smile of her own ignoring the way look of slight annoyance and disapproval that Jin was giving her.
“Hurry back, darling.” He murmured placing a kiss on her cheek as he let her go.
She shot him a strained smile, but didn’t say anything else as she made her way towards the kitchen. It was where she normally ended up when she went to the Kim’s home. Much to her relief, Seokjung was inside when she entered the room which was oddly empty of staff.
“Hey, busy bee.” He greeted and she couldn’t help but smile at the fond nickname. It had started out mockingly when she had first met him, but it was an affectionate term now. “I see Jin finally got to you.”
“Not by choice.” She scoffed coming to take a seat across from him at the breakfast nook. “Can I ask you something?” Seokjung raised a brow taking a sip of his tea but making no move to stop her from asking. “Did Seokjin do this to you?”
The man froze something dark flashing in his eyes before it left again. He set down his cup and leveled her with a serious gaze. “And why do you ask that?” She raised a brow of her own waiting to see if he could piece things together on his own. Seokjung was by no means a stupid man despite how the rest of his family treated him. “I’m guessing the bruises on your wrists are from him.” He sighed leaning back in his chair. “How long?”
“Since this started.” She whispered staring down at the marks on her wrists. “There’s something very wrong with your brother.”
“I’m glad someone else is willing to recognize it.” He scoffed chuckling bitterly. “Yeah. This was his fault.”
“Your parents didn’t do anything?”
“Why would they? They always liked Jin better. Mother’s precious boy.” He shook his head as though clearing his thoughts before steering the attention back towards her. “How did he rope a sweet girl like you into this, bee?”
“Would you believe me if I said kidnapping?”
“He put his own brother in a wheel chair. I’d believe you.” He chuckled humorlessly. “Sweet kid like you doesn’t deserve this.”
“And you did?” She scoffed staring him down from across the table. “Your family is seriously fucked up.”
“I’m aware.” He rolled his eyes though a slight smile pulled at the corner of his lips. “How long do you have before Seokjin comes looking for you?”
“Not long.” She shudder hating the thought of going back to sit through dinner with Jin and his parents.
“Perfect.” The smile that overtook Seokjung’s face was vicious, his eyes too bright, too manic.
“What are you…”
She couldn’t finish her sentence. Jin had entered the room immediately zeroing in on her. “There you are, darling.” He walked over a frown on his face as he looked between her and his brother. “We were wondering what was taking you so long.”
He reached for her wrist only to freeze as a harsh thud sounded through the kitchen sending Jin crashing to the floor. Y/N watched in horror as Seokjung raised a pipe she hadn’t even been aware that he had up bringing it down on the disoriented Jin’s head with a sickening crack.
There was an odd sense of satisfaction that filled her as she watched a puddle of red almost the color of her dress form under Jin’s head.
“What…why?” Her gaze flitted back to Seokjung who was staring down at his brother with burning hatred.
“It’s time he got what was coming to him, rotten bastard.” He spat bringing the pipe down on his brother’s head again, Y/N flinching at the sight of it.
“Oh god…” She whispered her gaze flitting back to the growing puddle on the floor.
“Bee… bee!” Seokjung’s voice pulled her attention back to him before she could begin to spiral. “Do you wanna get out of here or not?” he asked his serious gaze keeping her pinned in place.
“What?”
“Do you want to get out of here?”
“More than anything.”
Seokjung nodded pulling a two bags out from the next to him at the breakfast nook and setting them on the table between them. “There’s a change of clothes in that bag. The tote has passport and a ticket on a flight leaving Korea later tonight as well as all the paperwork you’ll need to start a new life.”
Her head was reeling try to make sense of what was going on. “I don’t…”
“If you stay here my family is going to try to pin this on you. They can’t do that if you’re not here.”
“What are you… You planned this.” She breathed out in quite awe tinged with a little horror at the thought.
“You’ve given me the opportunity I’ve been looking for for ages. He’d never come visit me on his own, but he does so love to brag, and you’re the only one that would come looking for me in this hellhole.” He nudged the body with the pipe. “You’ve done me a favor, busy bee.”
“You killed him.”
“An eye for an eye.” He shrugged. “I’m just taking back what he took from me. Now do you want to get out of here or not?”
“More than anything.” She whispered pulling the bags towards her. “What about my dog?”
“Go to the states. Start fresh. I’ll send him along once you’re settled.” He ordered humming in approval as she began to move. “I have my driver waiting outside waiting to take you to the airport. You’re home free, bee. There’s even a phone in there. It’s got my number if you need anything.”
She stood up carefully avoiding the body and the blood as well as she could. “Why are you doing this for me?”
“You’re a sweet girl, bee, and you’ve always been kind to me. Don’t rat me out, and we can both be living the good life.”
She nodded letting the realization that he was giving her an out, a real out, settle in. “Okay…. Okay.”
“What will your parents say?”
He scoffed rolling himself back from the table. “You leave them to me. Now get out of here before they come looking for their precious son.”
She nodded resolutely making her way towards the door leading to the back entrance to the Kim house. “Thank you.”
“Good luck, busy bee.”
She made it to the door before turning back to look at Seokjung one last time before she left behind his crazy family for good. He nodded urging her to leave, a manic gleam in his eyes. He was enjoying this far too much, but she couldn’t bring herself to care. He’d set her free, and she’d take his secret to the grave.
She smiled, her first real smile in weeks. “Give them hell.”
“I plan to.”

Spectrum
spec·trum
n. a band of colors, as seen in a rainbow, produced by separation of the components of light by their different degrees of refraction according to wavelength.
You never really understood the whole soulmate thing. How childish was it for one to believe that there was a match for every single person in the world somewhere? How does that even work? You had initially thought of the idea of soulmates to be a very romantic thing. Especially when you were a young child and the idea of meeting a perfect person seemed totally logical and realistic. You thought it would be such an amazing feeling to be able to lay eyes on that one person and once you figured out who it was. The way one touch could change your entire perspective on the boring and dull world.
But over time, you lost that fantasy. You watched as everyone who you grew up with found their soulmate. Watched the way their eyes took in the world in a totally different way as they were allowed to fill in the dull black and white they had been used to seeing with varied shades of the rainbow spectrum. Alas, your vision was left the same. Unchanged.
Your hope dwindled until there was none left. You had been forced to believe that you were just one of those very rare and very unlucky people who never got the opportunity to find their soulmate. Even if someone’s soulmate was on the other side of the world, people would somehow find them. But for you, whether that person be across the sea or in your own city, it didn’t seem like there was such a person.
“This is your stop, Miss,”
The gruff voice of the taxi driver snapped you out of your soulmate thoughts. You wanted to kick yourself for even falling a little into those deep ideas. You briefly thanked him and handed him the desired change before stepping out into the cold. The frosty air nipped at your cheeks and you pulled your jacket around your body as your eyes raked over the tall skyscraper in front of you. Nerves started rattling at your chest and you took a deep breath in attempts to calm yourself.
You took some steps to get inside, feeling the ground crunch underneath your boots before you pushed open the large doors and the heat burst across your cold skin. You quickly made your way to the front desk where a serious looking woman sat, typing away on her computer.
“Uhm hi?”
You attempted to get her attention. She looked up with a not-so-pleased expression, but it softened with realization upon seeing you and a comforting smile stretched across her face.
“Hello (Name)-sshi. You’re on the 11th floor. There will be someone waiting for you up there,”
You smiled and nodded in thanks before stepping into the elevator.
When you did make it up to the 11th floor, there was indeed someone waiting for you. You looked at the male in front of you. He was a couple inches taller than you, and had an easy-going smile on his face. When he saw you step out of the elevator, he smiled wider.
“Hi!” he said cheerfully.
“Hi,” you responded back.
“I’m Hoseok. I’m here to help you out since it’s your first day,” he said.
“Oh thanks!”
“No problem. So our office is this way…”
And over the course of the day, Hoseok had indeed made you feel very comfortable. He was a fun guy to be around. He explained everything about the company you worked for and what to do in certain situations. After getting past the initial awkwardness, you guys shared many laughs and even relayed some personal chats as well. When he asked you if you had found your soulmate, your heart had dropped slightly before you answered with a hesitant no. But to your surprise, he only smiled even wider and excitedly told you that he hadn’t either.
“Wow really?! Me neither!! I didn’t think there would be anyone else my age who didn’t find theirs. It’s nice to know I’m not alone!!”
Your mood lifted slightly at that statement and you found yourself smiling in agreement.
And over the course of the next few months, you and Hoseok had bonded greatly. You could say that now he was considered to be one of your closest friends. The relationship between the two of you stretched into not only professional, but great friends that did a lot together outside of work.
And it was an obvious thought. With the two of you getting along so quickly and so well, and the two of you not having a soulmate, the thought was not entirely unrealistic. He had been the one to ask though, and after an experimental touch, you realized that it was not the case. You and Hoseok were not soulmates.
It made you feel slightly upset. Not because you had deep romantic feelings towards Hoseok or wanted to be with him, but because the idea of having a soulmate with whom you got along so well seemed pleasurable. You trusted and cared for Hoseok a lot, just as he felt about you, so you didn’t think there would be any downside if he was your soulmate. Alas, fate can be unkind, and you were left with that same feeling of dwindling hope that you had gotten used to all your life.
That doesn’t mean that your relationship with Hoseok changed. No, on the contrary, it only strengthened the bond between you two. He was the one who would always give you pep talks and insist that you had a soulmate out in the world waiting for you whenever you felt upset about it. You really appreciated him.
It was now, into the first 4 and ½ months later that you had been working under the company, that Hoseok and you found yourselves laughing loudly with each other about some stupid thing. Your fingertips had stilled over your keyboard for a long time, longer than you expected. So when you heard the phone on your desk start ringing loudly, you could only clear your throat trying to subdue the light chuckles that emerged from your lips from Hoseok’s previous statement as you pulled the phone up to your ear.
“Hello?” you had asked with an easy-going smile.
“(Name)-sshi?! What are you doing?! Where are the documents that Mr. Kim wanted 2 hours ago?! Why haven’t they been submitted?!”
The feminine voice that rung out immediately made your heart drop and blood run cold.
“O-Oh my gosh. I totally forgot!! I-I haven’t even finished them yet!!”
The female let out a sigh that sounded genuinely worried.
“(N-Name)-sshi, he’s really annoyed. He had an important meeting with some clients and he expected those documents to be finished and ready for him. But when they weren’t there...he had to ask them to go. He was really embarrassed,”
You felt panic rise in your throat as you met Hoseok's confused and worried eyes.
“W-What should I do?”
Another sigh.
“I...I don’t know. Just...good luck,”
And the line disconnected. You sighed stressfully and put your face into your palms before relaying the entire conversation to the male next to you. He looked to be just as scared as you, before he started advising you to hurry up and finish them at least now. It was in another 1 and ½ hours when you finally did finish those documents. You didn't know what to do with them though, not wanting to go face your angry boss with late work, so you kept it to the side. Looking at the influx of other work you had to do, you sighed before beginning to work on that.
In about half an hour, your phone rang once again.
“Hello?”
“He’s calling you to his office,”
You gulped and hung up the phone before shakily grabbing the documents he had wanted and beginning your journey there. Despite working at the company for more than 4 months, you had never really gotten to interact much with Mr. Kim. Considering he was the CEO, he hardly ever was in a situation in which he needed you for anything. From what you had gathered though, he was a fairly nice guy, but when he got angry, it could be devastating. And that’s what you were worried about.
You reached the door to his office and raised a shaky fist before rapping your knuckles against the wood. You heard a brief word that allowed you to enter so you did as told and opened the door.
It’s not like you have never seen Mr. Kim before. You had. In fact, even if you didn’t, you could still probably figure out the way he looked from all the talk about him amongst the female population of your company. They weren’t wrong in the descriptiveness though.
Despite the look of irritation that was laced across his face, you had to admit he was probably the most handsome person you had ever seen. Dark hair, dark eyes, and light skin. The urge to see in color was powering. You hated seeing people in only black and white.
The tall male cleared his throat and looked at you and you immediately snapped out of it and looked back at him nervously. He was going to fire you. Not only was that a client meeting, but a client meeting he had been preparing for since you joined, all those months ago. You were definitely fired.
He sighed.
“(Name)-sshi. What happened today?”
You gulped.
“Uh I-I didn’t finish the documents on time,”
“And why is that?”
“I….I don’t know,”
You did not want to say that you were goofing off with Hoseok in fear of getting him in trouble as well.
“Don’t worry. You’re not in much trouble,”
“W-What?”
“Someone told me they saw you with Mr. Jung today. Since you are the new one and Mr. Jung should be guiding you, it’s not fair that I punish the newbie when he was the one distracting you instead,”
Your face morphed into a defending frown.
“I-I’m sorry, Sir. I know this was really important for you and the company and I completely understand if you want to fire me but please don’t do anything to Hoseok. It wasn’t his fault, it was mine. He completed all of his work and I asked for him to keep me company. It was my own fault for getting distracted and I take all the responsibility,”
Mr. Kim’s eyebrows raised slightly before his hues narrowed.
“Hmm. Is there something going on? We don’t have too many strict rules regarding relationships between employees but if there is a situation which regards helping an employee out of a situation just because you are in a relationship. That is not allowed. Are you and Mr. Jung, perhaps soulmates?”
Your cheeks flared with heat as you immediately shook your head in denial.
“N-No Sir!! I mean, we are very close friends, but not soulmates! I am being totally honest!!”
Mr.Kim hummed in acknowledgment before he nodded.
“Very well, I’ll let you off this time but it is your last time, (Name)-sshi. You may leave,”
“Thank you, Sir!”
And with those rushed words you scurried out of the office, nerves finally disappearing as you let out a deep breath. You got lucky.
Your time working under the company was the same every day, but you didn’t hate it. On the contrary, you had learned to love the way your life played out. And that was without a soulmate. Having Hoseok and a couple of other close friends from around the office made your life very enjoyable. You ended up forgetting that sting of loneliness and incomplete feeling that came without having a partner. You didn’t necessarily mind it anymore.
After your slip up with the CEO, you stayed on top of your work, making sure to submit everything on time and proper. The attentiveness even earned you some compliments from Mr. Kim, to your pleasant surprise. Seeing him speak like that was nice, compared to the irritated tone he had used the first time. People in the office were right; he was an easy going guy. Whenever you had company get-togethers he would always crack the lamest jokes and smile and laugh and it had the rest of you laughing as well.
You were excited for today. You and Hoseok were leaving office a couple hours early, to go do some fun stuff together.
“Yah!! Hurry up (Nickname). You take forever!” Hoseok bounded at your cubicle as you shoved your laptop and folders into your bag as quick as you could.
“Okay okay yeesh,”
And once you did, you somehow ended up in front of him, quickly running through the aisles to get out as fast as you could, hearing Hoseok laughing right behind you and you only smiled. Yes, it was childish of the two of you but everyone on your floor knew how you guys were. Hearing his giggling getting further away you rolled your eyes with a playful smile at his slow pace before you turned to grab his wrist.
“(Name)-ah!!” you heard Hoseok’s voice ring out and you laughed before something dawned upon you. His voice sounded much farther away yet you were grasping his hand like he was just a couple inches behind you. You turned quickly and your eyes widened.
Yes, it was the CEO, your boss, Mr. Kim.
“W-What are you doing (Name)-sshi?”
His confusion was evident and you felt so embarrassed and just about ready to go crawl into a hole and bury yourself for a million years.
“S-Sir I am so sorry I-”
Your grip on his wrist immediately loosened as you stuttered out your flustered apologies.
“I-I thought you were…”
And then you realized that something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
You watched as odd spectrums seeped in from the side of your pupils as they began filling in the room with a variety of shades. Purple, yellow, green, red, and though you didn’t know which ones were which, it had to be the most beautiful thing you had ever experienced. But when your eyes landed on the taller male in front of you, you could only suck a breath in at the spectacle, admiring the way the colors filled in the already attractive features he possessed. You didn’t know the colors yet, but you would soon learn how they accentuated him in the most heavenly way. Dark brown hair and chocolate colored orbs that sparkled with life, beautiful light tan skin and plush pink lips, all features that were looking at you in the exact same way.
When Seokjin walked to receive some documents from an employee, he was momentarily surprised to see you running around, but he only chucked knowing that you and Hoseok were probably only fooling around together. He watched as Hoseok stopped to tie his shoe and you continued running, and with him trying to get back to his office, he ended up walking behind you. He was startled when your small hand reached out and clamped around his wrist and his brows immediately raised, hearing Hoseok call out your name in warning.
“W-What are you doing (Name)-sshi?” he had asked, still very confused.
You looked almost ready to die of embarrassment as you turned to face him.
“S-Sir I am so sorry I-”
Seokjin could feel the loosening of your fingers from his hand and he didn’t quite understand why it was a painful feeling.
“I-I thought you were…” you trailed off and Seokjin didn’t understand why you stopped.
That is, until he saw it. Streaks began flying into his field of vision with what he could only assume to be colors. He watched with curiosity as they defined everything in the office, from the glass windows to the wooden doors. And then with utmost amazement, he watched the shades fill in the face in front of him. He always knew you were a pretty girl, but seeing you like this, in your real form, had to be the most amazing sight he had ever seen in his years on this Earth. Once he learned the colors he would be able to say it. (Hair length) (Hair color) hair that framed your face in the most perfect way, large and wide (eye color) eyes that looked so stricken with wonder as you gazed at him. You had the most perfect features, and the unknown shades made you look a million times more ethereal.
Neither of you moved for quite a while. There was a strong urge that was settling deep in your chest, an urge that told you not to go anywhere far from the male in front of you. It drew you to him and kept you there, not that you minded. A strong bond lingered in your mind and it was like you could feel him reading you. A deep stirring feeling in your heart ached as well and you could only smile. So this is what people feel when they meet their soulmate.
Upon seeing your smile, Seokjin reciprocated one as well before he let out a chuckle as a cheeky smile stretched across his handsome face.
“So, Soulmate, how beautiful am I in color?”
You laughed. Despite him being the CEO and the two of you having nothing but formal and polite conversations the past few months, you felt as if all of that had suddenly disappeared. You felt as if you knew this person your whole life, and you had been talking to him forever.
“Colors make you look a hundred times better Mr. K-”
He quickly tutted at you and smiled wider, taking your hands in his. The touch made your heart flutter as the colors seemed to shine brighter.
“Seokjin, just Seokjin or Jin for you,”
You smiled widened and a blush dusted your cheeks. It was then you noticed Hoseok standing there with his jaw slightly gaped. You smiled at him sheepishly, loving the way color looked on him as well, as he started smiling and cheering for you.
“Forget our movie night (Nickname)!! We’ll do it on Sunday!! You just met your soulmate!!” he was cheering like a fangirl whose otp ship had just sailed. Of course, you loved him for it and you smiled as you thanked him.
“Hey,” your soulmate’s voice rung out. You looked up at him. “Let’s go stand outside so that if anyone asks, I’m outstanding,”
You stared at him blankly before you finally understood and laughed.
“Ah is this what I have to deal with for the rest of my life?” you teased.
Seokjin only smiled cheekily at you as he wrapped a strong arm around you and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“Yeah you’re stuck with me,”
And of course, you wouldn’t want it any other way.
