Thai Kitchen Pop-Up at The Dubliner Hollywood actor/chef Dream Kasestatad of L.A.'s famed Pranom is currently on a cross-country pop-up Thai Street Food tour that makes a stop on Greenville Avenue this evening. Four months after getting back from the PCT, after my wife and I decided to plant our roots back in Dallas for a while, I got asked to make a film about the very city I missed. Not for its status or skyline, but for its people and its hospitality. I was given the opportunity to collaborate with award-winning American slam poet Joaquin Zihuatanejo. With his poem in my head, I explored some of the less known about corners of Dallas and met some awesome people along the way.

Black Taffy, upon prompting by Central Trackâs Pete Freedman, has dropped a Halloween treat, a seriously swampy remix of Michael Jacksonâs Thriller entitled âTriller.â The accompanying interview where Donovan fleshes out his influences and philosophy is worth your time. His own material mines a lot of the same areas: deep bass, distortion, and the natural quirks of physical media. âTrillerâ allows you to hear those aesthetics collide with a genuine reverence for DJ Screw. Most will slow things down and stutter the mix, but miss the spontaneity and humor that was deeply important to Robert Earl Davis, Jr.âs work. Donovan gets it, and lucky you, because hereâs an hour of one of the best albums ever, broadcast live from the netherworld. Enjoy.
