I am badly out of shape, as attested by my knotted leg muscles, wheezy breathing, and the dull pain in my chest every time I find myself late for work and running-walking the length of San Miguel Avenue from Shaw Boulevard until I reach our office at the end of ADB Avenue.

I think the last time I clearly remember myself going for a run was during my girlfriend's university graduation. We were still dating back then, and since her univ grad will take the better part of the afternoon, after I saw her march off to the UP Amphitheater I decided go home, change into running clothes, and run my usual route along the UP acad oval while I waited for the univ grad to wrap up.

After that, I don't know. Maybe I ran a couple more times but my run during my girlfriend's univ grad was the last good run that I remember.

I need to get back in shape, especially with CEMplangan season just around the corner. (CEMplangan is the College of Economics and Management's annual inter-org sports fest organized by the CEM Student Council.) Even after I left UPLB, I still go back to play basketball for my org the UP Alliance of Economics and Management Students. Well, that's how much I love my org.

Last year was a good season for me. I started running and playing basketball again during summer, so come July I was pretty much pumped up for the games. I was motivated to come out stronger last year after a disappointing outing the previous year. We reached the finals but lost the championship after 3 games of a best of 3 finals. But still, a good season. I was able to prove myself that I still got game.
